A beautiful hotel, excellent staff who really go out of their way to help you, and a great location. Rooms are lovely and again the beds are just so comfortable. Nothing to fault here, I would thoroughly recommend. Breakfast was fantastic as well.

We have just returned from a 3 night break (28th July to 31st August) celebrating a birthday. It was our first visit to Prague after trying to get here for 10 years. We booked the hotel with Trailfinders and had breakfast included in the package. Excellent choices and service at breakfast. Really nice bar in the hotel as well for the evening, beautiful spa area although we didn't try any of their services or treatments.

The hotel itself is across the river from the old town, Wenceslas Sq etc which are very busy day and night but easy to get to by either 20 minute walk or 5 minute tram. We didn't use a taxi once due to their awful reputation from both tourists and locals alike. Trams and metros are clean safe and quick. We did the “hop on hop off” tour bus and would recommend it.

Having visited Old town & Wenceslas Sq we were delighted that our hotel was on the other side of the river close to Prague Castle, St Nicholas's church and Charles Bridge.
Prague is a beautiful city to walk around and I have rarely seen so many choices for restaurants. cafes and bars, all of which were very welcoming. We were not blessed with good weather and Saturday was a write off except for a terrific dinner at the Kampa Park restaurant. We must thank the hotel Manager (Werner) and concierge (Tomas) at our hotel who secured us what felt like the best table at Kampa Park that evening on the terrace (indoors due to the bad weather) looking straight out onto Charles Bridge and the river. The restaurant gave a birthday dessert free which was nice. The food and service was genuinely exceptional at the restaurant.

We really cannot praise the staff at the hotel highly enough. They were without exception charming and friendly with every need we had being met promptly and efficiently. The hotel is immaculately kept and being a former monastery is a really quirky and interesting building. Although the hotel was full it was peaceful and quiet at night, our room was overlooking the garden courtyard and was everything you would expect from this calibre of hotel.

We will definitely return to Prague and cannot ever see ourselves staying anywhere else in Prague other than the Mandarin, and having done most of the touristy sightseeing things we can hopefully relax more on our future visits. On a personal note the draught beer in Prague is superb!!!

Returned to Prague this month, this time with Mom and sister to celebrate birthdays and visit heritage sites in Europe. Could not decide whether to return here (had fabulous experience in 2008 with husband, see previous TA review) or try the Four Seasons. I likely could not have gone wrong either way. I ultimately chose this not only because I knew how great a property this is, and because the hotel was offering a pay two nights/third is free deal but because the Four Seasons is located in the heart of the very- packed -with -tourists central area of Prague, and comparatively this Mandarin is an oasis, in a quiet corner of gorgeous splendid Prague.

Additionally, the hotel has a truly unique vibe---it is very different from other Five Star properties, it feels like a true boutique property. ( I do note that the lobby of the FS is much more luxurious and spectacular if you need that). Also, the spa is beyond wonderful; I enjoyed one of the best massages of my life. Extraordinary in fact. Breakfast excellent. Staff at hotel is super attentive and helpful. Location and setting magical.

Only complaint is what you may have read already: I felt nickel and dimed by hotel's need to charge 99 Euro for third person in room even on the free night; somehow this does not feel right.

Suggestions: pack only flat comfy shoes-impossible to walk on cobblestoned streets in anything else; splurge for the spa; beware of "highway robber" taxi-drivers at train station and airport, better to arrange for hotel to send taxi to meet you instead; book with platinum Am Ex card for great benefits.

Very comfortable hotel in a quiet and convenient part of the city. Beautiful rooms with everything you could want. Not cheap but the staff have a nice blend of formal and informal. A small problem with the room not having been serviced by 3 pm but quickly rectified. The building is a converted monastery and still seems to exude tranquility.
Little extras like a pillow spray (lavender I think) to improve sleep!! Little doggie bag with apples and water in it for the journey home.
We will be back!!

The staff is extremely helpful and caters to the customer's every need. My room was large and the bed was the most confortable one i"ve ever slept on. Breakfast is great with high quality meats and cheeses. Valet parking was a plus as I needed to get around due to an emergency. The location was close to the Charles Bridge without the crowds or noise. I can't wait to come back.

We stayed at the Mandarin to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Even though we actually live in Prague we decided to stay in the city as we didn't have the time to travel; plus, pretending to be a tourist in your own city is always bit of a fun.

When we arrived to the hotel, we got a royal treatment: we were personally greeted by the hotel manager and then promptly escorted to our room. We ordered the Deluxe Suite on the fifth floor - and it really was luxurious, with a vast bathroom and fabulous decor. Not to mention that there was a bottle of Champagne waiting for us, accompanied with chocolate-dipped strawberries, a fruit bowl and a personalized, hand-written greeting card. Nice!

Next, we headed for a massage at the Mandarin Spa. We chose the "Mandarin Ritual", a 2-hour full-body massage combined with a 1-hour meditation. We're not too into massages, but this one was a real treat. Highly recommended!

For the dinner, we didn't use the hotel restaurant (Essencia) but instead, we headed to U Zlate Studne (The Golden Well). Food-wise, Essencia is really nice but Golden Well is even better plus its spectacular terrace makes it THE place to head for a romantic dinner.

And when we got back from the dinner, there was one more surprise waiting for us: a hot bath with red rose petals and some aromatic oils... what can I say, we had a fabulous time.

Thank you Mandarin!
