“Great location, lovely staff, highly recommended”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

We stayed here for three nights as the reviews were excellent - and it was!

It's located very close to the Charles Bridge, on the castle side, which means it's probably slightly quieter than being in the Old Town. It was a really good location and very central.

Our room was large (my husband upgraded for £15 per night extra) and had flat screen TV (one English channel - CNN), wireless internet, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, bathrobes, slippers etc. It was very nicely decorated and incredibly clean. There's no lift because it's a very old building so if you have mobility issues, think twice!

The ground floor restaurant serves very good food at a reasonable price and we ate here each evening.

My only negative comment is that the chef and a waiter decided to have a cigarette break one evening and we could smell smoke in the restaurant which was rather unpleasant. I'd read a review on TripAdvisor by someone who had a similar experience (the hotel had commented that the designated staff smoking area was between the kitchen and the restaurant) - very poor for a non-smoking hotel. If they change that and ban smoking altogether, that would be perfect (after all, surely the guests are important?!).

All said, I'd highly recommend the place.

Room Tip: We requested a quiet room and got one on the top floor with windows out into the central courtyard...

Great hotel in a very center, just in 2 minutes wal from the Karl's bridge. Cozy and clean rooms with antique furniture. Quite street, beautiful window view. Very good selection for breakfast. The only minor minus - there is no elevator, so you might need to climb up to 4th floor, and WiFi connection at the upper floors are quite weak.

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely boutique hotel. It's location by the Charles Bridge could not have been better! Perfect base for exploring Prague on foot. We had a spacious and elegantly furnished room with high ceilings and huge windows. Our room was located on the third story overlooking the street (with a view of Charles Bridge and St Nicholas Cathedral). The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant attached to the hotel did wonderful breakfasts and amazing pork knuckle!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street have a great view. They have double glazed windows, although some people may...

Now this is wat I call a fantastic traditional hotel, on booking I told the hotel it was our wedding anniversary and when we arrived the staff had laid petals , candles, hearts and made the room look really romantic.
We were in room 10 which had a lovel large comfortable double bed with a gorgeous painted ceiling and a view of Charles Bridge gatehouse that was magical.

The staff were extremely helpful and carried the heavy bag to the third floor for us ( no lifts ).

Breakfast ( which was included was absolutely fantastic, eggs benedict, french toast with caramelised apple, prague ham, bread, jam etc etc. brilliant, it was so ggod we decided to eat in the restaurant that night and we wer not dissapointed, the service is first rate and the food top notch.

This was a real find for Prague and was within 30 secs walk of the bridge on the lesser town side, soi everything is within easy reach.

The only thing they could improve is the squeaky floorboards ( felt sorry for whomever was under our room )

Got a real bargain on Laterooms ( £65 per night in a Royal room and would have been happt to pay double for sure!

Overall a fantastic hotel and on eo fht ebest we have stayed in in any major city

Room Tip: If you want a view...front of the hotel, room 10 a delight

Booked a 3-day stay at this hotel as a birthday/Christmas present for my partner and it didn't disappoint. Could have gone to a larger, faceless, boring modern hotel with every room the same but we didn't want that - we wanted to experience something a little more traditional.
We had a very warm greeting at the hotel and were shown to our room (no 5) which overlooked the street and which was obviously freshly-decorated and spotlessly clean. In fact, the entire hotel was utterly immaculate (and I'm fussy!). The bed was big and comfortable, the view of Charles Bridge was more than we could have hoped for, and the breakfast was really good depending on what you chose. My advice would be to go for the traditional breakfast and try to avoid the French or American one as they had tried to over-complicate those !
My only criticisms - and they are only minor ones - are that the mini-bar didn't get re-stocked during our stay, the room was occasionally a little chilly, and we could have done with a bath mat rather than having to use one of the hand-towels to put on the floor when getting out of the shower.
I would most certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something traditional, quiet and friendly and if I return to Prague I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 5 was lovely

We have just returned from a short stay, four nights, at U Cerneho Orla. What a beautiful hotel. situated right by the Charles Bridge in the Lesser Town places it within easy walking distance of all the sites.
We had booked a double room through Prague Experience and were lucky enough to allocated the suite on the top floor. Whow it was was amazing. Beautifully decorated with amazing views.

All the rooms seemed to be spacious and decorated to a very high standard.

The breakfast as stated was A la Carte, nicely presented and ample. The Orla special and the French Contential were particulary nice.

We have already decided to make the Orla our first choice for our next Prague Visit.

My wife and I loved this beautiful hotel!
The breakfast is served to order (not a buffet) but very abundant and delicious.
The staff is helpful and friendly.
Their restaurant is nice with a good menu and 30% discount for guests. We went almost every night!
The rooms are high quality and spacious.
Wireless works great.
The only flaw is the lack of an elevator but that was not a big deal for us.
I highly recommend this hotel!!!!!!!!
