“This hotel should form part of your Prague experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This hotel should form part of your Prague experience. It is located in between of the castle and the old town. In fact, it is located right next to Charles Bridge. Once you stepped out of the hotel, you can see people performing along the street and along Charles Bridge.

The hotel comes with breakfast and you get to choose the breakfast choice from the menu. The staff are attentive and friendly to the needs as well.

This hotel is a walking distance away from the train station. Thus, for those with luggage, I would recommend that you take a bus for 1 - 2 stops to reach the hotel with ease.

I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Prague. It's a pleasant stay!

My girlfriend and I visited this cute little boutique hotel this July.
Location - Location was great just 100 meters from charles bridge on the mala strana (lesser town) side. Close to all locations yet not that crazed as some parts of the old town.
Service - The service was excellent we recieved everything we needed, since this is a boutique hotel the staff were extra flexible with our needs.
Facility- the room was spotless, Cute little rooms decorated beatifully which added to the great atmosphere the city has. The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was great. We also thought that the price was more than fair.
All in all, Cute place, excellent location, great vibes. We will recommend to others.

My fiancée and I spent 4 nights in this hotel, and it was a truly amazing experience. From the booking service online (and solving some issues over the phone) to the cab reservation (waiting for us at the bus station) since before our arrival we had a top grade service. Arriving at the hotel, the reception service received us using our names before we had to identify, and promptly gave us plenty of useful information and tips on how to enjoy our stay. And this concierge service turned out to be really handy. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, fast and efficient. The cleaningness was also remarkable! I.e., the only thing that was not spotlessly clean was a corner of the balcony (on the outside). If I would make any recommendation it'd be to install a shower higher on the wall, so you don't have to hold the douche with a hand while showering. Bath amenities were abundant and of good quality. The bed was huge and comfortable, and despite being virtually ON Charles bridge and shops, it was rather peaceful at night. We will CERTAINLY go back there whenever in Prague.

As newlyweds we spent our second and only one night at this lovely hotel. Location is amazing, 1 min walk from Charles Bridge on the Prague Castle side. Very quiete at night and very romantic. Staff is ever so helpful. We had the opportunityto have some lunch and really tasty breakfast. I would definitelly recommend this lovely hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: Royal room right at the top is very quiete and with A-C little noisy but perfect

Our first time back in Prague for 3 years, this time as tourists not as residents. We haven't stayed anywhere central before and I thought the top floor suite would give us the space we were used to and be close to everywhere we love in Prague.
The room was huge and well equipped. My only gripe would be the 3 flights of stairs you had to climb to get there. I'm not sure if they mention that on the booking website. Definitely not for the unfit or elderly or infirm. There is no real balcony as such more just a space on the roof to look out from, but WOW what a lovely view across the rooftops of Prague. I would never have imagined being so close to the Charles Bridge would be so quiet. When you see the sheer volume of people traffic using the road outside the Residence you would expect it to be very noisy. That said, unless you're clubbing, Prague doesn't really do late. Most restaurants are closed by 10.30-11 and the streets are much quieter.
There is much hype re the Hastens beds here. They didn't do much for me, far too soft and squidgy. But I'm sure the name will be enough to satisfy some people.
Breakfast, served from 7-11 am, was in a class of its own. I don't think I've ever seen so much food at breakfast time and lots of different options classified under different 'nationalities', French/Japanese/English/Russian, or the option of smaller portions of more traditional breakfast items. However, they were very strict about what you could order, no going 'off piste' and trying to make changes or combine options. Very irritating as the portions were so huge and we were wasting so much food when all we really wanted was eggs and toast!!
We liked this place. Close to the action, the room was more than adequate, the staff very helpful, 2 minutes to the tram stop, Charles Bridge literally on your doorstep..... there's not much else to say. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had the top floor suite but all the rooms looked spacious, clean and tidy.

For of all the location of Residence U Cerneho Orla cannot be beat! It is a stone's throw away from the Charles Bridge and within walking distance to the most important sites in Praha. Upon arriving the front desk "male" reception was lovely-he helped us with our luggage and gave us an overview on everything! He was amazing but I did not get his name. The room was as pictured and welcome chocolates were a nice touch! Please note the overall the Czech people speak little English especially the elderly and they can be a bit rough around the edges when communicating in English. First tip: Make sure you ask that everything is included in the price before ordering off the menu in the restaurant! We had a horrific experience with a very rude young male waiter during breakfast. He attempted to charge us for bottled water and a croissant which would not have been a problem had he told us there would be a charge BEFORE ordering. The worst part is that he tried to charge us 95 CZK when you can buy the same bottle outside the hotel for 20CZK. We are seasoned travelers (both Doctors) and were definitely approached in the wrong way. Additionally the charge for the bottle of water was for our first day at the hotel and he was trying to collect two days later. We stayed for a total of 4 nights. Now the Boutique Hotel deserves 4 stars for location and for Nicole (Nico) at the reception. She not only intervened in the restaurant mess with the rude waiter but she was extremely gracious and accommodating with all of our questions. She was by far the friendliest and most professional hospitality individual we came across in our travels in the entire Czech Republic. For her and the location absolutely 4 stars! Overall the experience was positive and we will stay again. The beds could be more comfortable and when arriving by taxi make sure you negotiate the price AHEAD of time. The taxi drivers are notorious for ripping off tourist and we were duped arriving (charged over 600 CZK) from the train station-double the price. Nicole arranged our taxi out and it was perfect and priced correctly. Hotel 4 (because of restaurant server) Nicole 5 and location 5! Wifi worked perfectly, room decorated beautifully, hotel clean and quiet. We had a street facing room so light sleepers ask for a inner room. Lovely-will return!

Room Tip: Choose a room facing inner side-street can be noisy with happy people. Ask about prices and do not a...
