“Heat exhaustion”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

The room was quite small, but ok if you're not spending a lot of time at the hotel. The temperature was way too high though. Even with the ac off the room was boiling, to the point where we could not sleep. This was in February, so a warm room is nice, but this one was a sauna. Also, we asked for a double bed and got two separate mattresses...not nice if you want to cuddle, even though the temperature in the room would not allow that anyway.
The breakfast staff was very impatient, rushing people as they'd start cleaning up about 20 minutes before breakfast was over...I was getting coffee from the machine and had the spoons and sugar taken away before it was even ready.
The location was really good, close to the shopping areas and to the old town, and the Thai restaurant that works as the hotel's restaurant was really good. Did not really feel like a 4 star hotel, and I think the price is only justified by the location.

Dear Joana,

we are very sorry, that you were not satisfied with your stay. We have no excuse for the heat in your room, I must admit, that we had some difficulties with the AC at that period. As for the breakfast, we have already disciplined the staff so if you choose our hotel for the next time, everything will be alright.

Best regards

Viktor

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and found it ideally situated for all the tourist sights especially the Old Town and Wenceslas Square. It is also well placed for public transport, both trams and the Metro. For the price it is very good value and whilst not a 4 star hotel I am happy to rate it as very good based on what it does offer. The rooms are fairly basic (there is no wardrobe for example just an alcove behind a curtain) but there is a room safe, a very comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom with hairdryer and powerful shower. They are also very clean. Wifi is free, just ring reception for your unique guest code, and a more than adequate continental breakfast or a hot cooked breakfast. The bacon and sausages are in a warmer but eggs are cooked to order in front of you. We had a room facing out to the main street and yes you do get some traffic noise and tram noise and if you don't want to have your sleep disturbed by opening a window (they are electrically powered) you can always turn the air conditioning on. Overall for the money this hotel is difficult to ignore and as we intend to return to Prague to see the sights we missed out we will definitely be looking to stay at the Design Metropol again

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms face the main street

I was staying in this hotel for one night while on a business trip. I give this hotel three points and the main reasons for this is that this is not a 4 start hotel. For what they are offering it can be a max of 3 star.
Positive about this hotel is the following: It is conveniently located, it has a clean rooms. Hotel is offering fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection which is free of charge. Price for the hotel is good and it is worth it what they offer.

So-so things: rooms are very simple and not that big. Room reminds me more on these express hotels that you can locate near the highways. It is far away from 4 star hotel. For 4 star hotels you need to receive a feeling of something special. This hotel is ok to spend a night, but to stay more you will certainly like to have something more. I was in a room with two single beds and beds are a little bit narrow so I had also a problem not to fall off it during the nite. I was also situated in the room facing the main Narodni road so I need to have a closed window as noise of those squeeking trams will not let you sleep and they will wake you up early in the morning. Breakfast was mediocre and I got rather cold eggs and cold sausages even though i was there among the first people at 7am.

It is an ok hotel but there is still much space for improvements. Wish you best.

Room Tip: Rather choose rooms not facing the Narodni road if you want a bit quieter experience

Dear Guest,

first of all, I would like to mention, that we are a certified 4* hotel by worldhotels and others and have many mystery guests and other controls over this past the few years that we are open.

Anyway there is always something to improve and we are greatful for every comment positive or negative. We will do our best to make improvements on the things you didn't like!

Best regards

We book two rooms, and when we arrived at 6am we went to the hotel and left the bags as our check in was at 2 pm. The staff was very friendly and the baggage was tagged and put away. We come back later in the afternoon and check in with no problem, again the person that was serving the desk was so polite and friendly. The room was warm, very clean and nice and the window blind is so cool. The hotel is located only 10 min from the old town and 6 min from Charles bridge, so very convenient to all local attractions. Next day we ate the breakfast that was included in the price and was very tasty, checked out and left the bags again with no problem. The staff is making extra sure that the guest are comfortable. I would recommend the hotel and will be definitely back when in Prague

Room Tip: It is my personal choice but I prefer shower then bathtub - we had one room with shower and one with...

This hotel does exactly what you want it to do - it's fairly central, we walked easily into the the Old town and squares, There is a tram stop just opposite that takes you to the castle area (much better to take the tram up hill and walk down). It's clean the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast is really good - probably the best hotel buffet breakfast I've had for a very long while.

The rooms are small but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was a good with plenty of hot water

so in all just what I wanted from a city hotel clean conveniently located and no hassles

Room Tip: higher levels have a better view over roof tops to the castle

Location is great, however being in the heart of Prague you get loads of drunks walking down the street singing throughout the night till morning. Room was small but as we stayed out most of the time and used it just to sleep we didn't mind. The staff were very friendly and helpful. it was great weekend get away.

being at a place that not many people speak english, it is very important to have generous help on what you might need with an honest smile allways. because it was out of high season, we asked to be moved on 7th floor (that has better view) and that was grate. The room was pleasant, cleaned every day, not very big but it is just for sleep so it is ok, very warm - it was freezing outside. allways hot water and a very comfortable mattress, like it is made for rest after hours walking. for me only the pillows were too soft. the curtains are so that it can be completely dark in the morning, Mini bar is complete, i just found expensive thewater ( about 3 euros). there is not a facility to make your own tea or coffee, but you can buy drinks at the lobby down stairs till late. the location is trully very convenient as it is at the edge of the old and the new city and one way to mala strana crossing the river.Thow it is quiet .the Metro station is allmost outside the door and no hills and up and downs- flat area. Internet Connection is possible with cable at the room and wi fi at the lobby. Breakfast is grate!. Choices betweeen fruits, yoghurt, eggs, cheeces, meats, even cooked mushrooms, cakes, pies, 3-4 kinds of bread ( that can be toasted), croissants, marmelades, local salads, vegetables, just filter coffee and tea and juices. You can also order your own omelette or pancake. The only thing I could mention is that the bacon was a bit hard. But there is a hero-cook man there, he is taking care everything with kindness. For a long walking day is the best Energy! I just imagine that at the busy season it will be difficult to find table 9.30-10.30. We were ok. We enjoyed our stay there , nothing to complain, many thanks to the people working there, they make the difference.
