“Great location!!”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

Have never stayed in a better location, one minute to everything-attractions, restaurants, shopping. A bit noisy, but seasoned travellers always travel with ear plugs. The front desk staff especially Janna were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you. We even had to catch an early morning flight, breakfast wasn't open yet but they packed us sandwiches and enough fruit for a large family. They were more than helpful with booking attractions and any questions we had. Hint: behind the hotel, away from the square, alot of quieter restaurants, less touristy, authentic food. The church just behind the hotel has great concerts!! The hotel is more than happy to arrange transportation from the airport which was extremely helpful.

Fabulous hotel. We loved everything about it. It's in a great location, very close to the Old Town Square. The original, preserved features really give atmosphere and the decor is superb. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, from giving directions to recommending restaurants. The drink on arrival is a nice touch! We were very impressed by the breakfasts too, the made-to-order omelettes set you up for the day. Our experiences in the hotel enhanced our trip and we would definitely return.

Room Tip: We had a standard room and it was really good quality, as well as spacious. I'd love to see the...

I give this hotel 5 stars for location, hotel staff, and other amenaties. Located a one minute walk from old town square and walking distance from everything. Beautiful bathroom, huge bath tub, air conditioning, free wifi, great breakfast, awesome hotel staff. The staff spoke great english and helped us with everything including directions, holding our bags, recommendations, wakeup calls, etc. The only two complaints were they ended up putting us in a room with two beds pulled together which they asked our permission about but the bed frames didn't make it possible for the mattresses to touch so we (my husband and I) felt squashed in one double/queen bed. The breakfast service as far as getting drinks could have used some work. Hoping these were isolated incidents, I would still give this hotel 5 stars and absolutely stay here again. We stayed in 5 different hotels in 4 different countries and this was by far the best hotel. You would have to take a cab from the airport/train station to any hotel in a good locations so this might as well be your choice!

Loved the blend of 14th century monastery with beautiful modern amenities. Location was excellent - close to the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square. The food in both the on-site restaurant as well as the Indian restaurant run by the same group was excellent. All of the staff was extremely helpful - for example, when they found out we were going to be leaving for a tour before breakfast, they packed one for us to take along. We had one issue with a service provider (not the hotel itself), however the hotel staff took care of this for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Prague earlier in the summer and were really pleased with our hotel choice. We arrived quite late but were greeted by a lovely warm welcome, the receptionist provided us with a map of the area and leaflets containing details of many events that were taking place around the city during our stay. We were also advised on nice places to eat and what to see around the city. Throughout our stay the receptionists were always cheerful and happy to help.

Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection, the waiting staff were polite and friendly and the chef made lovely omelets and poached eggs to order. The hotel is in a brilliant location just 2 minutes walk from Old Town Square. If your happy to walk and take in the sites, from this hotel there is no need to use public transport, we walked everywhere during our stay even up to castle and found it a nice way to explore different parts of the city.

We are hoping to return to Prague in the future and will definitely be staying at the Savic Hotel.

Prior to my trip to Prague, I had researched a very large number of hotels. Once I settled on the Savic, I reread most of the reviews to select the perfect room for my needs. Ultimately, I settled on Room 303 which is definitely gorgeous and very spacious. Yes, even though it's on the "third" floor, it is an attic room so there are plenty of stairs between the elevator stop and the room. But, I asked for help with my suitcase and received it promptly so the stairs were really not a problem. The problem was the temperature.
Unfortunately, the AC went out the day we arrived and was not fixed for two of our three nights when Prague was experiencing high heat and humidity. Room 303 has four windows with cross ventilation. With the fan that the hotel provided, I was able to sleep soundly. My friends were not so lucky. I had asked for quiet rooms. While 303 is very quiet, their room, 304 was not. Without the AC, they had to leave the windows open and they heard noise until the wee hours of the morning. And, there was no other fan available so two of their nights were both hot and noisy.
All of this is really too bad because the Savic is truly a lovely hotel with a great deal of character and charm--no cookie-cutter rooms here and the bathrooms are really beautiful. We found the breakfast to be excellent with everything we could possibly want or need. And, the service is clearly one of the hotel's long suits. Jana, Mira and Samir all did their best to make us feel welcome and at home. They cheerfully answered our questions and offered all manner of help and suggestions about what to see and where to eat.
The advantage/disadvantage of the hotel's location is a matter of opinion. It is very near to the main square and many of Prague's must-sees. That is especially nice in the morning when the square and the streets are nearly empty. But, by mid-day and late into the night, there are hordes of people all around the hotel. We did not have a "restful" feeling. All three of us agreed that if we were to return to Prague during tourist season, we would probably stay somewhere further from the center of things. Off-season though, we'd stay at the Savic.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room that does not face the street. Room 303 is both lovely and quiet.

A great hotel, with fantastic warm welcome, hotel organised our transfers from the airport so from the minute we arrived until the minute we left they looked after us with first class treatment.
Lovely room - spacious and very comfortable.
Very clean, and very pleasant.
Breakfast was very good, although service of coffee a little slow, but the chef was great and cooked eggs to order.
