Faultless hotel in great central location. Everything excelled expectations and particular attention/thought was made to the fact we were stranded for an extra day due to the now infamous ash cloud - a bonus not a sentence for sure ! The staff helped make our stay exceptionally enjoyable - definitely a place to return.

My friend and I arrived at this hotel in the middle of the afternoon. It is located just off the Old Town Square, literally a minute's walk from the Astronomical Clock. The Receptionist was warm and welcoming and asked if we would like a glass of wine, czech beer or a soft drink. The check-in process is efficient and we were given full instructions on how to use the keycards (you couldn't operate the lift without one!), plus a map of the city and leaflets on various tours, attractions and local places of interest.

The hotel itself isn't large. It is beautifully decorated, with stone walls and floors at entry level and plush upholstery. Each of the three floors has a lounge/seating area with comfortable sofas so you do not have to stay cooped up in your room whilst in the hotel. Some of the original features can be seen, such as the wooden beamed and painted ceilings.

Our room was spacious and light, with a wooden beamed ceiling and chandelier. We had a marble en suite bath/shower room which was spotless. There were complimentary toiletries and fresh towels, a roomy closet with rail, shelves and safe and a wall-mounted flat screen TV and iPod docking station. The minibar was well-stocked, if expensive, but there were complimentary tea/coffee making facilities. The twin beds were sturdy and comfortable and the general temperature was just right.

Breakfast was varied and plentiful. There was a wide selection of breads, pastries, cereals, cold meat, cheese, tea, coffee, juices and fresh fruit/salad. There was also a hot selection of meat and vegetables, not to mention the on-hand chef who made pancakes or omelettes to order. Although it was self-service, there were polite and friendly waiting staff on hand to clear plates.

My only negative point on this hotel was the morning we were woken up at 7.30am by housekeeping in the lounge area on our floor dragging the furniture around to buff the wooden floors. I appreciate the effort but a little later in the day would have been more appropriate!

Overall the staff, service, facilities and cleanliness of this hotel were outstanding, even to the email I received from the hotel director (sent on the day I checked out), thanking us for staying and completing the comment card and apologising for the previously mentioned disturbance.

If I went back to Prague this would be my first choice for a place to stay. Fantastic!

Stay at the Savic if you are looking for a comfortable and excellent location!
Just returned after spending 5 nights here which we chose after reading other TA reviews.
The Hotel is so well located for all the tourist sights which are near to the Old town Square and Charles Bridge. Everything about the Savic has been completed with the 'visitor/tourist' in mind. We arrived about 11.15am and were allocated our room 3 hours earlier than normal. The reception staff are so genuine that nothing was too much trouble. Vera helped us to decide upon a restaurant to eat in for our anniversary, and then booked it for us, managing to book a table looking out onto the river.( Kampa Park) She also sent a bottle of sparkling wine to our room, which was a nice gift. She also booked some tours for us.

Our room, 303 was at the top of the hotel with 20 stairs to climb once you entered the room. Those steps led us into a lovely room which was about 25 feet long and had a marble bathroom with bath, seperate shower, basin, toilet, bidet, scales, magnified illuminated mirror, telephone and L'Occitane toiletries. Much to my wife's delight, a 'real' hairdryer. Next to the bathroom was a walk in wardrobe with a safe. The main room had a sofa and two very comfortable armchairs with foot stools, a coffee table, writing desk with Dolce Gusto Coffee machine. My only minor complaint was that there were only 3 coffee pods & milks left each day. 4 would have allowed us 2 drinks each per day!

Breakfast was bufett style both hot and cold food provided with eggs on demand, they also have some free English newspapers by the breakfast room.

Everthing else was first class. Towels were changed daily and the bedding changed on our 3rd day.The furniture throughout the hotel is of a high standard. We did not have to check out of our room until 12 noon and then we were able to leave our bags in their office until the taxi arrived for us ( We used Prague Airport Shuttle both ways!)
All of the staff were polite and you could engage in conversation with most of them and ask for advice on places to visit etc.
We booked our holiday with Opodo, receiving better rates for the hotel than anywhere else. If you want good flights we chose Czech airlines who have an early flight arriving at 10.25 am and departing at 8.10 pm.
For comfort and location I do not believe we could have chosen a better hotel.

Stayed in room 205 with great view onto the street, but with no street noise probably due to the traditional dual windows, which doubled as a wonderful seat to watch the world go by.The Hotel is so central for the old town and a short walk to the its many sights, also there are two traditional beer/food halls which the receptionist told us off,we tried one(due to time limit). The receptionist was very helpful and always had a smile for us,as we came and went.
The breakfast was excellent and had fresh fruit/breads/cereal/juice/bottled water/hot food/tea and coffee, small amounts were laid out,but were topped up constantly.I
liked this as it is a sign of good food handling practice.
The room was airy and fresh, and was spotless with tea/ coffee, and the bathroom with its marble tiles and good hot shower,we could find no fault here either.
Common areas are brilliant and lit up at all times and security is very well looked after too, with key card lifts and entrance doors not to mention the countless CCTV cameras

We chose this hotel after hours reading trip Advisor's reviews. We were not in the least disappointed, this boutique hotel is a real gem. Not only did it cost much less than other 4star hotels in european cities, but also it had worderful atmospere, extremely friendly service and impeccable design. The breakfast was generous, the gilrs at the reception desk wonderful, they booked any restaurant or night club we wished to go. Don;t miss it, it a rare, real bargain. One of the best hotels, ever!!!!

Stayed here for three nights with my girlfriend for a long weekend. Location is very central in the old town area - some people might prefer a less busy as this area is very touristy, but it was excellent as a base to explore from - also great double glazing so no street noise! Room was a perfect mix of opulence and character, even better than it looked in photos - bathroom also compact but first class shower and bath. The furniture and bed were extremely comfortable and we found ourselves retreating from the tourist hubbub back to our room during the day for a siesta as it was so nice. Breakfasts were expansive and tasty - you could even have a customized omelet cooked for you. Staff friendly and helpful and nice touches in the room such as a decent coffee maker and quality bathroom products. We ate at the restaurant for convenience before flying - tasty food but nothing to write home about. Only picky criticisms would be our room was a little on the hot side and the piped classical music in the corridors got a little annoying! Otherwise absolutely first class.
