My boyfriend and I stayed in the Savic over the new year. This was our second visit to Prague and to the Savic. I don't think I would stay anywhere else!! The room was very spacious, once again, and wonderfully furnished. I like the fact that they have now added Nespresso coffee machines and ipod docks to the rooms...as well as the L'Occitane toiletries!!
The only thing that went wrong was that we ordered breakfast, in the room, for Christmas morning and it hadn't arrived by the end of breakfast time. I phoned reception and they really couldn't apologise enough and sent up what we wanted right away. This wasn't a huge problem as we got what we wanted in the end. We did eat, in the restaurant, one night but found it to be a bit expensive for what it was...around £21 for a turkey escalope with czech potato salad but it saved us going out to look for something else as we were not particularly energetic that day!
We did one of the boat trips with a buffet on board....we found this to be a waste of money to be honest, we sailed down the river with no commentary...just a band playing and the buffet was very poor...chicken pieces, hotdogs and chips, etc. Not worth the £30 each.
Sounds like I'm moaning here but, seriously, Prague is still as beautiful as ever, in the winter too. The christmas...My boyfriend and I stayed in the Savic over the new year. Sounds like I'm moaning here but, seriously, Prague is still as beautiful as ever, in the winter too. The christmas market, in the old town square, was wonderful...the scene of the gorgeous christmas tree nearly took my breath away. They sold great snacks at great prices and wonderful Svarak...mulled wine....as well as lots of glass, souvenir and sweet stalls.
I find there are very little hotel rooms in which you can completely relax and chill out but the Savic is most definitely one in which you can! All the staff are still fantastic and very helpful...and the chef does great omelettes! No, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Prague!! Thanks again to the wonderful Savic and its staff.More
