On our first visit to Prague we needed to be close to the main railway station wanted to be able to walk around the city. Hotel Sovereign fitted the bill. Two blocks from the trains and one block from Wencalas Square & great walking to all other attractions. (We did cheat catch the metro to the Castle).
Bookings were done on line & when we arrived very friendly staff greeted us & we finalised all arrangements including being able to store our bags there so we could visit Czesky Krumlove for a night..
Staff spoke good English . Our corner room on floor one was spotless with mini bar cable tv. Being on a corner we thought noise at night would be a problem but no, streets were very quiet the bed was very comfortable.
Our first breakfast was great but our only criticism was that we thought the quality dropped a bit although there still was a huge selection each morning.
For the price in the city centre we paid FAR less than the equivalent in Melb., Sydney or at home in Adelaide.
We would have no hesitation recommending it to Singles or couples Can't comment for families as didn't see a family room) but suspect it would als be good for a family

Me and my husband were staying at Sovereign together with our two grown up daughters and we got two very nice penthouse room that were connected with a lockable door, one twin room and one double room. The hotel is nice located on a quiet street but only 200 meters away from the main street. Good service and cleaning. The breakfast was quite good for being such a small hotel. Hotel restaurant was rather expensive.

I know it's strange to start my review referring to the beds, but they really were the most comfortable we have ever slept in, ever!!!. This hotel is situated near Wenceslas Square, and I did find it a bit of a schlep from the other areas which were far more pleasant, quaint and desirable. Unfortunately the location of this hotel is one of the only things which let it down. Although close to W.Sq, once you turn into the road it is on, it seems to take a down turn, but this is ONLY AT NIGHT. We didn't feel threatened at all, just like we were leaving behind the more pleasant areas of the city.
Breakfast was a very good buffett and always very fresh. Always cleaners present and rooms cleaned very well and efficiently.
If I could pick the hotel up and place it elsewhere, I would definitely return.

Staff were very helpful specially Aneta at the reception. Hotel itself is extremely comfortable and clean. We were lucky to have been in 105 which is a corner room with views of 2 streets. All major sights are within walking distance (with the exception of Prague Castle). There were tons of restaurants to choose from where we sampled some tasty Czech cusine. If you are into shopping everything is available from well known brands to local boutiques. Overall our Prague experience was unique and delightful.

this is a quiet, discrete, small hotel with an excellent location very close to the most interesting places to visit in Prague .This is its best feature.
As a four star hotel it is quite on average: the rooms are wide enough and clean enough but sometimes they forget to clean the mugs after you used or the opening of the air conditioned suddenly falls down during the night . However,we had a pleasant stay except for these accidents.
There is a small beatiful wellness center but you need to book it in advance and there is a fee (about 11 euros for 90') to pay for sauna and steam room: the gym is free. The breakfast included is good: unfortunately you have to eat it on very small round tables (maximum 2 person) so the family is divided in different tables.
Finally, be careful to the prices they offer for transfer to the airport: it should be a fixed price but the driver will ask you a different price!!!

My Husband and I spent 5 nights at this hotel. It was exactly like what was described in trip advisor. The room was very clean and comfortable.

We arranged for transfer from the Main station with the hotel and it cost only 250Czk. We could have walked as the hotel is very near the main station, just a short walk of about 5-10mins. This was great for us as we were catching a train to Krakow.

Loved the location of the hotel, we walked everywhere. Its so near Wenceslas square where there are so many shops and restaurants to choose from.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. A good choice definitely

one of the easiest hotels i have stayed in...what i mean by that....we stayed in a 3 bed room, but they charged us for a 2 bed room, even though there was 2 of us...the extra bed came in handy as a mate of ours had an unexpected glitch at his hotel, so he came up and stayed in out spare bed...reception was informed but didnt charge us anything extra. i thought that was an extremely kind gesture on their behalf, and they won me overt . i read a review about sovereign, knocking down the breakfast!! i am not sure they stayed at the same hotwl as we did! the breakfast was a looooooong buffet styled strech, full of hot and cold food!
eveything was really really nice, good sleep, comfortable rooms, and brilliant high powered showers. everything one would expect from a 4 star hotel..and then some!
would recomment it to anyone visiting prague...its a good 15 in from the charles bridge...but who cares!! you dont go to prague not expecting to walk!!
take my advice and book it
