“Big scam. Beware!”
Reviewed 12 November 2011

I Make my reservation a week before and left my phone number. When we get there we were told that the main dining hall is in renovation and the menu is the same but limited. We said ok as even a limited michelin starred menu should be great. When we were taken to a small windowless room the maitre d' told us that the michelin chef has left. Noone bothered to call us to inform about the situation which occured day after i called them. And they claim that they are telling evetyone now. Too late for us. We had to eat a vague dish. Nothing special. It was a big dissapoinment.

“Three of the best meals I’ve ever had in Prague were eaten here.”
Reviewed 2 November 2011

Allegro Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel
Italian / Mediterranean

Request: A table next to the window overlooking the river.
Year in and year out, Allegro is voted the best restaurant in Prague. I’ve eaten here several times and must admit it lives up to the hype. Once you’re seated, you forget you’re even at a hotel; indeed, over 50% of the people dining there on any given night are not hotel guests. The food is sublime, and the riverside location overlooking the Charles Bridge and the Castle is nothing short of dreamy. Three of the best meals I’ve ever had in Prague were eaten here. The prices are unquestionably high, especially for water, but if you want to splurge, this is well worth it (and hopefully your pockets are deeper than mine).

“beyond expectations”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

We ate there by accident as we were tired from a long day of touring and were staying at the Four Seasons where the restaurant is located. The restaurant squeezed us in as we were guests of the hotel. My wife had a ravioli with figs that was out of this world. I had a John Dory fish in a wonderful white sauce on a bed of crunchy cooked veggies. The breads were outstanding as was the cheese course we had for dessert. The by the glass wines were the best we have had in Europe and we are often in France and Italy. Overall, the food was the equal of Michelin 3 star restaurants we have eaten at including Alain Ducasse, Gordon Ramsay and Taillevant. Service was friendly, competent and timely. All in all it was a special find.

“Absolutely a Star restaurant. Best in Prague!!”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

i must say, if you don't have the money, you should not go to Allegro, you will not find anything cheap. But, everything you get, food, service, experience and a over all excellent feeling of real luxury you feel in a Four Seasons Hotel, make it worth ever single Koruna. The waitresses attention to detail is enormous, the glasses where never even close to empty, and if there is even a breadcrumb on the table, they sure will be there to take it away in an instant. The food is what you can expect, every little dish is composed in a way that make the tastes explode every time you take a bite. We had some fantastic days in Prague, and Allegro was one of the factors that really made this trip nothing but perfect. One can not give anything but full score on this restaurant. it is the Best in Prague despite it being the most expensive. this is mine and the Guide Michelin´s opinion.. ;)

“Wonderful . . .If You're on Someone Else's Dime. If Not, You'll Have a Large Hole in Your Wallet”
Reviewed 19 September 2011

$27 for a bowl of soup. Not lobster, truffle or some exotic mix. Pumpkin soup.

$106 for 2 continental breakfasts (basket of rolls, coffee and juice), plus an "extra" item of yogurt. That's right, I said the equivalent of ONE HUNDRED SIX U.S. DOLLARS for a basket of bread. No fruit. No cheese. No meat.

As you can see, prices in this elegant restaurant, located in the Four Seasons Hotel in Prague, are obscene. Service is also extremely slow as no dinner takes under 2 hours. If you are there on business and have other things to attend to, it's rather frustrating. If you are there for a romantic dinner, or celebrating some occasion, perhaps you don't mind the wait.

The atmosphere is beautiful, presentation is elegant and food is very good, though portions small. It is very "Top Chef," with some items having that foam that some of the former cheftestants on the popular TV show like to throw on everything. A couple items have been outstanding, such as a dish with grilled octopus and a local fish called red mullet, and a venison dish with a beet sauce that was the best venison I've ever eaten. Facebook friends asked, after I'd posted photos of the aforementioned pumpkin soup, if it was the best soup I'd ever eaten. While it was delicious, I'm not sure I can make that claim. There are nice touches, with the chef sending out a complimentary amuse-bouche, a wonderful basket of assorted breads and bread sticks, and a small dessert, as well as an elegant chocolate truffle stand at dinner. Breakfast included a "gift" of an "energizer" drink.

Fortunately my stay at the hotel, and the meals, were paid by the company who brought us here on business. But after 3 nights in a row of slow service and very rich meals, we opted to go out and find a local pizzeria.
