We went there right after visiting National theatre in Prague, which is right around the corner. Parnas has fantastic location, 500 meters from another legendary restaurant Bellevue. Right near the river, with beautiful view on Prague castle. Food acceptable for high class restaurant. Inside it seems little bit old and cold, but do not be confused. It's highly classy and represents art deco style. Not for everyone, not for spectacular celebrations, but high class old school dinner ? Why not. Perfect restaurant for celebration of your parents birthday for example :)

Went there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The restaurant was very quiet on Friday night and it made it more special for us to have the place for ourselfs. We chose degustation menu which had 6 courses and it was delicious. The waiter was really nice and friendly. The only down point was that we expected the pianist to play all night (that's what I understood from the website when I was booking a table) and he was playing next door in cafe Slavia too so was switching between both places.

Located on the River, one Bridge away from the Charles Bridge we had a delightful view as the sun set and the lights rose on the hilled castle and city on the opposite river bank.

We divided a platter with a selection of numerous "local" entres. A great way to sample the domestic cuisine. It was called "Old Bohemian Dish" - “Wealth” for two persons: roasted duck with caraway, pork neck with garlic, smoked pork red and white wine cabbage, variety of Czech dumplings, and baked onion potatoes with bacon. Service was attentive.

Our Waiter suggested a "Masters" beer for me. It was excellant. Dark but smooth with a touch of fruit or nut( not sure) in the taste and a fair head. Regrettably as inviting as the deserts appeared at the tables around us we had amply taken care of our appetities and had to forego such wonderous looking delights.

Take a peak at their website. Pictures of the area and the restaurant along with the menu. Site has a TAB for English. Attached and below is a Cafe- "Slavia" I believe was the name, good for lunch and m,id-day breaks and goodies(sweets).

Just dropped in here for lunch yesterday. We are a bit wary of doing that here in Prague, as the food is sometimes really awful. Looking at tripadvisor first is a good way of making sure to get something edible. But yesterday we had no plans and were hungry. There were a good few guests here already, always a good sign. The interior is nice. Quite old fashioned. Reminds me of the Grand Cafe in Oslo, for those of you who have been there. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. The food was good and nicely presented. I had roast duck with red cabbage. The duck was nice and tender, but the skin not crisp - had to be removed.
