Very tasty filling meals at a very good price - best value we came upon in Prague. If we had found this restaurant sooner we would have gone back.
One starter two mains with sides one pudding 2 0.5l beer 2 glasses of good cold Czech wine one espresso (a very strong delicious one!) for less than £30 with tip - you just cant go wrong!
Best most helpful and by far the most cheerful and pleasant waiter (or indeed waitress!) we came upon in Prague. Although his English was not good (a lot better than my Czech!!!) he gave recommendations and made every effort to ensure we understood the menu (some of the translations were a bit odd) and were happy with our meal and drinks. Just a fabulous man.
A bit out of the main tourist area and doesn't look much from the outside - you have to enter via a set of stairs as it is beneath ground level - but don't let this put you off. It is very clean and has a no smoking section. Not a place for a refined meal or special occasion or a romantic evening but for a well priced hearty lunch or dinner this restaurant would be hard to beat in Prague. On the night we were there it was mainly locals eating - always a good sign.
This is just round the corner from the Hotel General where we were staying - very convenient. I was surprised the hotel staff didn't recommend this restaurant - we went to one they did recommend and it was dreadful!
Try it for yourself - always the best way!
