I booked this pension as we were just needing a base whilst exploring Prague. It was very clean and the breakfast of yogurt and cold meats and coffee was fine to start off the day. Rooms are very basic and not soundproofed so you wouldn't want to spend more than a couple of nights here just in case. However it was very good value for money though a little basic. Allowed to check in early. Very easy to get to from the airport bus then metro Mustek. Very central we walked everywhere. All in all if you are just spending 2 nights exploring Prague then its fine.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the street

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, all the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The twin room was basic, cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. In the room is a fridge, twin hot plate, kettle and microwave but cooking and eating utensils are very limited, it would be a struggle to prepare any meals. The shower / toilet area was very basic and small but hot water was always available.

Pension Alabastr is a clean warm bed in a great location minutes from Wenceslas Square. If you're expecting luxury this isn't it, but it is particularly keenly priced.

Wifi is a bit patchy and some of the rooms are noisy, but otherwise a recommended stay.

Always wanted to visit this city and booked this place - as a friend had booked there.

I prefer pensions as you can cook your own meal - if you prefer - and they are often more characterful.

I stayed the first night in a huge room overlooking the street and the remaining days situated in a room overlooking the courtyard garden at the rear.

The latter room's charm was spoiled by the folk who decided to smoke - meaning I had to close my window :( So, if you dislike other's smoking - make sure - if you come when it is warm enough to leave a window open - that you get a room at the front of the hotel !

The rooms were clean and I did not find the beds / pillows uncomfortable - as mentioned by other reviewers - perhaps I am too used to sleeping on sofas :))

Handy for the tram service and there is an interesting arty cafe and a buzzin' bar if one heads right out of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you like fresh air - but hate smokers polluting it - ask for a room at the front of the hotel. th...

Excellent city location. Ten minutes from everything you need on a short city break. Reception staff extremely friendly and very accommodating. Free wifi, flat screen TV, breakfast included and delivered to room, also there were cooking facilities in the room so it was more like a little bedsit than a hotel room. 10 min walk to central station and to lots of great pubs and restaurants, theatres, shops and museums.
However the room was very outdated looking and smelled completely of smoke. We had to keep the windows opened and spray the room with deodorant as soon as we got in.
The pics on google images make the hotel look much fancier than it really is.
Expect good service and a central location but don't expect too much from the interior.

was at pension alabastr for 4 nights. clean, wifi and great location, about 10min walk from station mustek.
i was a single female traveler and felt safe walking back to the pension even late at night.
was staying at the ground floor and it opens to a little garden outside the room.

(the pension is actually very near a local cave-like pub, u sulu. check it out if you are there!)
