the area is central but prices are quite low and fare
we visit this restaurant at least twice a month, we have tried the whole menu already and we were always very satisfied
very nice beef stake, nice and huge pork ribs
in general the staff is helpful and nice, so we always have a great time there
the design is a mix of history due to the old/vintage design items
We also celebrated our engagement there very nice design to allow nice photo shoot- see pic

Every year I visit this place with great pleasure together with my colleagues. Restaurant is below ground level, great big place with loads of tables. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Menu is fun to read. Food is great, no nonsense well prepared meals. Nothing fancy, but great value for money.
Absolutely a place you'd come back to time and time again!

We wanted to try something new, no brand and typically Czech, so got into this pub/restaurant in cellar.
The interior was nice and despite the fact smoking is still allowed in Czech restaurants, it didn’t smell so badly by cigarettes.
We got nicely welcomed and were served very quickly even if the pub was really busy at this time
Their a la cart menu is really big, but as we were bit in a rush we decided to go for meals from their lunch menu, what is typical in Czech restaurants between 12pm - 2pm.
We picked the fish (sion) with mashed potatoes with onion accompanied by warm vegetables. The potatoes were nice, otherwise it was really basic, but if you are in a hurry and looking for decent food with quick and polite service, it’s good place to pop in.
PS: just try to skip the visit of the toilette ;)

Super quaint place, everybody there was a local. Is located downstairs and there are eclectic decorations everywhere. Folks were smoking in a side room, so the place has a little smoke around, but not overpowering for us somewhat sensitive non-smokers. English menu, and enough english speaking waitstaff. Went for dinner around 9pm on a Saturday and no problem finding a seat. Everybody was enjoying themselves eating this delicious food and drinking equally delicious beer. There were locals having birthday parties/get togethers, friends catching up, as well as couples on dates -- a good mix. We ordered:

Dark Masters beer -- yummy! Don't find this in many places.

Pilsner Urquell -- of course, this stuff is great too

Goulash -- a little spicier than the other places we've tried, but it was great nonetheless, and super filing

Potato dumplings -- wow, these things are super filling.

Roasted duck -- cooked perfectly.

Came out to about 400 czk (including vat+"fee") which is standard for a big meal for two people in places like this for Prague.

Includes a mandatory 10% "service"/tourist fee which we've gotten used to by now.

No wifi, because this is a serious enjoy great food and beer with your friends or family place.

Service is of the usual czech variety, be patient, do the mad stare to get more beer, expect the service charge, etc. Just enjoy yourself eating and drinking like there is no tomorrow.

Place is excellent.

Interesting interior, delicious food for reasonable price and really, really nice waiters.
Busy almost all the time so you should be ready to wait for a table or reserve it in advance.
Leave tips!
