The apartment is quite grand and in an historical area
. But VERY disappointing in a number of ways.
There is no way to keep the rooms cool. With day temperatures in the high 20s,
a couple of upright electric fans would have made all the diference as its been so uncomfortably hot to get a decent nights sleep.
We were unable to leave the windows open overnight due to the drunks from the fake irish pub beside the apartment and the beer garden at the back. Up to 5.00am there was still noisy drunks keeing us awake.
Also one towel only per guest was provided for our 5 day stay.
I would not stay here again.
If you are travelling as a couple, this would be a great place to stay. The apartment is really sweet, relatively clean, and has a bedroom with comfortable bed for two. The location is fantastic. The brown leather lounge pictured in the promo photos is used as an extra bed for two, but just has a fill-in piece added, no mattress, just a flimsy cover placed over the leather, so there are gaps everywhere, and it is very hard. It is also not long enough for an adult lengthwise, and not wide enough for two. The bedding for a fifth person is a hard couch (pictured in the main bedroom), which ends up with a seam running down the middle which sticks into your back. We were a family of five, all adults, so it was very difficult, and we seriously debated moving on after the first night. We did persevere, but it spoilt the accommodation aspect of the stay.
The kitchen has very old utensils, and the previous people had not washed them when we got there. There wasn't any dishwashing detergent, or tablets for the dishwasher either, so we had to shop for those before using anything in the kitchen. There is a Tesco within walking distance from the apartment, so that was convenient.
The owner was helpful and punctual in response to bookings. We didn't find out until we got there that our vehicle didn't fit through the gate to the courtyard, where we had anticipated parking for three days, but the owner directed us to a nearby commercial parking lot. I don't think many vehicles would fit through that opening, unless classified as a "small" car.
