Neighbourhood: Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Description: This traditional restaurant with a rich history is situated in a house built in the 16th century. Not far from the Charles Bridges. Right on one of the most popular tourist routes known as the Royal Way (Královská cesta). Despite this, it has preserved its quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The interior is cosy, in the period style with spectacular vaulted ceilings with fragments of old hand paintings inspired by G. Arcimboldo. In the summer season, the restaurant's large windows are open directly onto the Lesser Quarter Square (Malostranské náměstí) and it is an ideal place for sitting back and enjoying your meal and the atmosphere of Old Prague. Our cuisine is modern and offers in addition to traditional Czech dishes several original specialities with game and duck, as well as burgers and pizza. Menu cards are available in Czech, English, German, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. We have PILSNER URQUELL, traditional Pilsner lager beer, on tap. Our wine collection offers many quality wines from all over the world and includes also wines from Moravian winery MUSIL, whose wines are presented at the “Wine Salon” (collection of top 100 Czech wines) each year.

“Nice meal, decent prices”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We stumbled across this restaurant while exploring the other side of the Charles Bridge. I am surprised with all the negative reviews on here, as we had a great experience. Our pizzas were delicious, the staff were pleasant and the prices were reasonable. Sitting outside with a lovely view of the square was also very nice. I would definitely go back again.

“Yummy Goulash”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Walked past this restaurant after visiting the park and saw they served goulash in bread. Very eager to try we gave U Kostela a go and it didn't disappoint. The soup was delicious and the restaurant itself was wonderfully decorated. Service was also good.

“Great Service nice Venue”
Reviewed 13 May 2014 via mobile

Service was great and the architectural buildout is amazing. Bring cash because they don't take credit. Definitely worth a stop after the Charles bridge.

“Best goulash ever!”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Despite resembling to a cafeteria, U Kostela is actually an excellent restaurant! Soups are served inside the bread and you can have them for something like 2€. The quality was excellent and I was perfectly satisfied the moment I finished my course. Service was avarange, waiters were quiet but they didn't fuss about anything (lots of waiters are so fussy in Prague. They seem rather annoyed by you) but they do not charge you extra money (near the clock tower they do without your knowledge). Recommended!!!!
