My husband, daughter and I really enjoyed Telc. We had driven up from Vienna and spent one night at the Hotel Telc. The town was so quiet and unpopulated. I was actually surprised when we did not encounter a single american or Rick Steve's groupie as we had originally been recommended Telc and the hotel by his guidebook (and a friend's recommendation as well). The square is amazingly peaceful and we just enjoyed doing laps around the square inside and out. At dinner we walked into a restaurant to find ourselves being the only ones there and ordered dinner with a little apprehension. But, out came a wonderful, full meal in what appeared to be not much more than a beer garden. Telc was amazingly inexpensive. Ordered a double esprsso and an ice cream at a cafe that came to 80 cents! For some reason we had a hard time drivng into the town, actually finding the entrance... but maybe that's just us! Our hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and I believe we were the only guests in the hotel but yet they still put out a full breakfast for us.
