We stayed 1 night at this hotel, and since we arrived by train, caught a taxi to and from the rail station. The hotel is situated in a quiet tree lined street and it is possible to walk to the main part of Brno and the castle area.
Our room was what we expected and we were happy with it. The bathroom was well appointed. There is a lift serving the building. Free cable internet access (which reception provided) was available in the room, with wi-fi acess being intermittent when we were there.
We found the receptionist very helpful and friendly with a good command of English.
The breakfast room was pretty basic, and the breakfast was also pretty basic. Some of the breads, pastries were stale, but still you could find something to eat.
All areas of the hotel was very clean and well maintained.
We had lunch next door at the Sabaidy restaurant,(which is inside the Hotel Amphone next door). It was Laotian and, after a while eating Czech food, it was great to have a wonderfully fresh and tasty asian alternative.

we stayed for 5 days and the weather was great, all the Hotel staff were very helpful and their english was very good unlike my czech. The quality of fittings and cleanliness was great and the buffet breakfast was very full with a few oddities (sliced swiss roll?) however all was good the coffee could have been a bit hotter but in general it was a good offering. The whole hotel had some exceptional czech art on show, most to big to buy and bring home.
There was an advertising card on the reception offering a trip out of the city to whats called a karst....we took this and what a very full day it was, we went to a cave system with an outside chairlift after had lunch (included in price) then on to a lovely convent and church then on to a castle that Winston Churchill stayed on his honeymoon, that is being renovated, which was in a great position after our boat trip to get there by which was also included in the price, and finally back to base. If you do want one thing to do then do this its a very busy day but well worth it, you will enjoy the beers after too.

Room Tip: just make sure you get what you ask for.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I had booked a ‘superior room’ with hotels.com but was given a ‘standard’ room. Only realised it wasn’t a superior room as there was no safe in room. Went to reception to be moved to superior room. The only difference between the 2 rooms is superior has a desk, mini bar and the furniture is nicer. The room sizes are the same. As there was no instructions to use the phone and the standard dialling ‘0’ or ‘9’ did not get us through to reception we had to go down everytime we needed something. First request was 2 extra pillows as the pillows were feather filled and there was no support in them what so ever. This request was met with a look of dis-belief and ‘hoffing and puffing’, was advised she would have a look to see if 2 extra pillows could be got. They were dropped up to room after a short time. Next morning no hot water for shower and air con not working. Back down to reception was advised they will sort the hot water issue but no acknowledgement of air con not working. When heading out for the day mentioned the air con again. Had the air con on from 4pm till the following 12 noon constantly and it just about made the room bearable to be in. Advertised they had satellite tv but only English speaking channel was bbc world news. I was ill so spent a day in the room and was bored. Breakfast was ok especially bread, juices and ceral but the fried food eggs and bacon was disgusting.

This hotel cost €70 per night and was not worth the money.

Parking is free outside hotel on the street so no need to pay for hotel parking.

Room Tip: Stay in another hotel....

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was a 25 minute walk from the bus and train station - although we had heavy packs on, could be done quicker!

Very nice room, spacious, clean and nice reception area. There was a small bar by the reception and a larger dining area on the floor below. Breakfast was served in the dining area and had a huge assortment of all kinds of cakes, meat, cheese, fruits, bread etc. Very impressive. Cheap price for what is it and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Located near a yummy Italian restaurant tucked away just up the street and 10 minutes walk up the hill to the centre of town.

Would stay again, everything we needed!

Nicely modernised hotel in street of lovely old buildings a few of which are bars & retaurants which are worth a visit, especially if you don't want to walk into the main town area. Try The Tulip restaurant, it is lovely, has its menu in English & you can get a 10% discount card from reception in the hotel.
You can obtain a bus/tram ticket from the airport - the bus will take you to the bus station & you can get the onward tram from there. You only need the one ticket for both journeys.
Bus 76 runs from outside the airport terminal, at the bus station take tram 1 to Moravski Namesti (it is only 2 stops - just make sure that you are travelling in the right direction), when you leave the tram walk in the direction it is going and turn right at Koliste, take first left into Milady Horakove, then first left again into Trida kpt Jarose, the hotel is about 200 yards on the left - there are 2 little restauants to your right before you reach the hotel. The receptionists at the hotel were all very helpful & spoke English, our room was a nice size & very clean although we did upgrade to a superior room so not sure of the size of the standard rooms.
Whilst we were there we took tram 1 to Lake Brno which was about 35 mins & well worth a visit. There are lots of lovely things to do & sights to see in Brno & we had a great time, we were blessed with fabulous weather though which always helps. If you use the buses & trams instead of taxis you will save yourself quite a lot of money and have a good experience into the bargain.

The hotel seems to have had a re-fit since the photos were taken. It's actually really nice. We found it to be very clean tidy. It's on a nice quiet tree-lined street and the staff are friendly and speak English.

The breakfast could have been slightly better but I'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for five days. We were unable at the last minute to arrive until the day after we had planned, but we were not charged for the extra night, which the hotel was perfectly entitled to do. The Europa is an elegant conversion of an old building, with original modern art on the walls and Philippe Starck (I think) chairs in the reception area. It rained a lot, but our room was so cosy we didn't mind staying in. If it had been fine, there is a lovely park surrounded by art deco villas at one end of the street, and only about ten minutes walk to the city centre in the other direction.
The one thing which might improve here is to have better coffee at breakfast. But we';ll be back for another great stay! Brno has a good few wonderful independent bookshops (especially in the main square, Svoboda Namesti) which also sell English books, art deco and modern architecture, splendid castle and cathedral and art galleries. Also fantastic old theatre where the child Mozart performed. We were very pleased that the staff printed off a map showing the location of the Villa Tugendhat, designed by Mies van der Rohe, nearby.

Room Tip: We recommend Carpe Diem restaurant just nearby
