This hotel is located in a pleasant, quiet street about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town. It was very quiet in the room - no street noise or noise from other guests. The curtains were great and the room was completely dark at night.
The hotel is modern inside with lots of artwork in corridors, lobby etc.
The room itself was very small with a bed (which was fine), a desk at the side, a small flat screen TV on the wall and a wardrobe. The bathroom was a good size and very modern.
Breakfasts were surprisingly good with lots of variety.
We only stayed one night but were happy with our choice of hotel in Brno. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Excellent location just outside the old town in one of Brno"s nicest roads. Room was a little cramped, but fine. Shower was good. Nice arty things hanging/standing everywhere in the communal areas. Breakfast buffet had a huge selection. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

We (3 of us) stayed for one night, in one double room and single room. My review is mainly for the single room, while i will try to draw comparisons to the double room.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the old city center and the main station. It is some sort of design hotel, which gives the hotel a distinctive look from the inside, but somehow you never get the feeling that all these distinctive designs are part of something bigger. As the hotel homepage states, each of the art pieces was made by another artist and they oddly stand next to each other, but never really "merge" into something new. I must also add that some of the "art" had a very strange approach. When i first looked at the picture at my corridor while stepping out of my room, i thought somebody had placed some pornography on the wall, but then i saw that it was supposed to be "art". Pheww ;=)

Rooms:

I don't know if i was upgraded to a superior single room, but i had a really good room. It was roomy, bright, with a big and nice bathroom (short, but deep bathtub, no shower), a chair and a desk and a comfortable big double bed. The double room from my companions on the other side, was smaller, had a much darker feel and no window in the bathroom (the bidet was also missing).

On the negative side, i must add that it was not possible for me get the shower working (attached to the bath tub), so i had to take a whole bath. Don't know if it was technical problem, but i guess so.

The room was also equipped with air condition, which was a bit loud, but i was still able to sleep very well. People who are allergic against noise might not like the fact that the sound proofing against the noise from other rooms is a bit low. I could hear the people from the room above me, walking through their room.

A tv was also available in the room, but it was VERY small (though LCD) and i could hardly see any details.

I could also use a pen and a bit of paper when i'm in a hotel room. Maybe the hotel can take that as a suggestion.

The rooms were clean, apart from a small hair i found in the bidet in the bathroom, but that may happen with the best room maid.

I didn't talk much to the girl at the reception, but i had the feeling that her ability to communicate in english was a bit limited. Nevertheless she made a friendly impression on me.

Breakfast was served in a small room in the cellar and was nothing that would blow your mind. It was okay for my taste, while the coffee was on the egde of being not okay anymore (filter coffee). I also didn't have the feeling that they cared to refill the buffet, when it was getting empty.

All in all considering the price for the single room, it was a very high value for money ratio. But comparing the more pricier double room to the single room, there is still room for improvement. All in all there are some points where the hotel could easily improve, but if you consider your location, this hotel is really good value for your money !

Dear guest,
Thank you that you spent your time on putting your lovely and detailed review of our hotel. We really appreciate all your comments which are inspiration for our effort to improve our services.
We are very sorry about your trouble with the shower in your room. However we have got various bathroom facilities in our hotel rooms and next time you can put special request in your reservation (for bidet or preference of shower or bath) and we will do what we could to get room with suitable bathroom.

With best regards

Nice old building but awkwardly modernized on the inside. Rooms are OK with the basics. Few TV stations. Great night watchman who is happy to talk to you. Free WiFi only in the lobby and free cable internet in the rooms. Breakfast buffet was average with the exception of the disgusting coffee which I don't think was even coffee. It tasted more like the kind of "ersatz" coffee made out of malt that used to be drunk during the communist days. Pfui! Great vegi restaurant around the corner on Lužánecká street. Haribol. There is only one set meal for 69 Kč about 3.5 €, you can speak English there and also pay in €.

Hotel Europa has large rooms and the staff at the front desk try their best to help. A few staff speak English so communication was not a problem.
Rooms are well appointed but if you are going during summer insist they tell you if the airconditioning is working. They weren't for the first 2 days we were there and it was awful to the point we were going to go to another hotel. Then they worked. Just make sure before you go otherwise you will suffer in the heat.
The breakfasts were excellent and very substantial, eggs sausages, vegetables, cereals, yoghurts, jams, sliced meats - plenty and almost like a 4 star hotel.
Their location is 10 minutes from the Brno town square and the street has a good choice of restaurants. The internet is good and is cable not wifi. The tv is not good being only a 17 or 19 inch monitor and not a good size for such a large room.
A great stay with helpful staf, great rooms and excellent breakfasts. Recommended!!

Room Tip: If hot weather ask if airconditioner works.Check bar fridge as theyre faulty too. But room is large...

At first the hotel seems quite a distance from the centre but the walk isn't too bad for the main square and top end of the city. Tram down to centre was very busy and on our return home we decided to walk to the station (about 10-15mins) after 4 trams were full and we couldn't get on.
The hotel is in a nice old building but is very modern inside - art hotel.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable
We didn't have tea making facilities in our room but could buy from bar area.
Breakfast very good
Room clean with internet access and desk. I don't recall there being any English channels on tv but we weren't there to stay in and watch tv anyway. Separate toilet and bathroom. Toiletries provided daily

I would agree with all the previous reviewers that the Europa hotel is a good choice of accommodation for a stay in Brno. We were able to walk from the rail station to the hotel ( although Google maps took us on a somewhat strange route!) and it was also an easy walk to the city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful. Our only complaint was the air con in the room. It was quite hot when we were in Brno and we did not find the air con effective. Other than that our stay was good at a very reasonable price.
