“Stylish business hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

This is a lovely formal hotel but it does have the air of a business hotel about it. The location is excellent being only a short walk from the town square, Spilberk Castle and restaurants. It is also an easy drive to connect with the ring road and the motorways.
The internal foyer is a sight to behold itself being a giant enclosed atrium. The only disadvantage is that this space was converted into a conference area while we were here. It over ran the hotel and detracted from the setting. There is a formal check in service and a second desk which is manned by the porters who manage your luggage and parking. Car parks are available at the front of the hotel to unload your car but they are limited in number. From here the porters take your car and given 10 minutes notice can have it ready for you when you need it.
We had room 415 which was a spacious junior suite. It had practical but tasteful furniture and artwork depicting many of the cities sights and views up to Spilberk Castle. There was a huge king sized bed, a good work desk, lots of power points, decent personally controlled air conditioning and good soundproofing. The bathroom was nearly perfect with a double sink, lots of space, a separate shower and a spa bath. Amenities were all high quality including monogrammed towels and good bath stuff. There was in room coffee but it was not a nespresso machine as advertised.
Breakfast was a good spread and was accessed from the conference area. There is also a restaurant here which we wanted to try but could not because the conference group had booked it out.
Overall an excellent stay but it is a more formal property so you will not find the personal touches you would get from a smaller traveller orientated hotel.

As a Brno citizen I do not get a chance to sleep in many Brno hotels. However I have gone through all 4 & 5 star hotels in Brno due to business reasons and also get feedback from many of our business partners that visit us . By far, Barceló Brno is the best when it comes to rooms as well as the comments I receive from the guests.
The hotel is in historical renovated building in the very center of Brno - it is about 3 min. walk to the main street of Brno and the square. I believe this was Jewish hospital. The decoration is very sensitive, keeping old stairs and other elements as close to original look as possible.
Rooms are fantastic - beautiful decoration, modern but classic. Even the basic rooms are quite spacious as well as the bathroom. I really enjoy atmosphere in any room type and got excellent comments on all room types from our business partners that we accommodate. I have slept in many hotels and rooms around the world, Barceló Brno is having one of the nicest (outside Asia).
Breakfasts are also nice and quite rich, enjoyed the breakfast few times - selection of fresh fruits is good and the same goes for more-less everything.

Two things that could be improved - the service is not the best and not reaching the hotel quality. The staff would need to get more professional and learn better English. The other little issue - parking is difficult. So they park your car, no problem but you do not park on some parking lot and go to the hotel. But this is a small price you pay for being right in the center.

Despite the service that does not match the hotel, still this is the best hotel in Brno. Personally I rather enjoy great rooms and location than top-notch service...

Title says it all, hotel looks great from outside and when you get in it you will be impressed even more. Location couldnt be better and everything you need to see in Brno is few minutes from there. You can park in front of the hotel and valet will take your car to their garage after you check in. Staff at the reception is nice and knowledgeable but as most in Czech republic they struggle with english. Room is very spacy with modern design. Everything in the room looks classy and bathroom is very spacy and luxurious as well.
Free high speed wifi is availabe in the room. Minibar has good selection and is not pricy.

I highly recommend this hotel. Great standards for rather fair price.

The hotel is a former hospital and the architecture is beautiful. The rooms are all large with high ceilings to give the rooms a real luxury feel. Breakfast is adequate but not the most adventurous. A good base from which to explore the city or somewhere to stay whilst on a business trip

I was very disappointed with the staff and service at this hotel. Though the actual hotel and the rooms are beautiful, the attitude of the staff does not match this. Breakfast service was non existent

Excellent location and yet still really quiet for a great nights sleep in super comfy beds. The jacuzzi bath was perfect after a long days sight seeing. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious & the staff were wonderful. Everything you could possibly need for the perfect city break. Absolutely fell in love with this place and will definately be using the Barcelo co. where ever possible in the future now. The only downside we had was that due to the location of our room, the internet was practically un-usable so we had to go to the business centre for this facility but there it worked perfectly so wasn't really a major problem and actually gave us more of an excuse to relax away from work.

Central location in Brno. Modern interior, newly refurbished which is exactly as shown on in the photos. We were given an extremely comfortable, quiet room, as requested with room for an extra bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were welcome. Restaurants nearby on Starbrnenska 3 less than 5 minutes walk away.
