Comfortable, modern hotel just 5minutes walk from the main historic centre. To be sure, 2 of those minutes are spent negotiating a very busy road. There is a perfectly fine underpass but I can imagine at night on your own, this probably looks dodgier than it is - in which case order a cab from your hotel it will cost peanuts, Hotel is clean, and the rooms are smart but fairly small. There is no bar so it does feel a little sterile, although the staff are very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is excellent and open until 11 (essential with so much fantastic nightlife in the 3 towns). A historic and lovely city - enjoy!

stayed for 3 day break in sept .easy to find ,bus from airport to train station then 10 min walk or trolley bus.modern hotel on river side only minutes away from city and riverside bars ect.large spotless rooms with comfy beds. helpful staff with excellent buffet breakfast.nice free boat trip around harbour/marina.the underpass so often mentioned is no problem at all.just a wide well lit tunnel under a dual carriage way.tram stops outside hotel .gdansk brilliant city ,so much history and good eating and bars.use the excellent local train to get to the amazing chic seaside resort of sopot, stunning beach/bars and food(2 beers,2 wine and 2 fish meals £12 !)and the more soviet style city of gdynia with its smart harbour/marina and good beach.allow at least one hour to get to airport in morn as traffic is horrendous.in all the hotel is a perfect base to explore the amazing baltic coast and its history

Qubus Hotel Gdansk is located very close to the city centre - perfect for business trip or weekend city break in Gdansk. It's only few minutes walking distance of the Old Town and main shopping and tourist area. Close to the Main Railway Station in Gdansk (10 minutes by taxi). It's a good standard hotel with all modern facilities. My room was spacious, nice window view on the river, great natural light, comfortable bed. Unfortunately there was no fridge in this room. I have no complaints about their service. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Also the breakfast was very good, however the capacity of restaurant is no enough (I sometimes had to wait several minutes to get a table).

We grapped this Qubus off Expedia just looking for a decent hotel for a one night stop in Gdansk. We were thrilled with it. At first the location seems less then ideal (the website picture is extremely misleading) adjacent to a highway. In reality, there is a pedestrian tunnel under the highway and the square is an easy walk. The room was fabulous and included a very good Polish style breakfast buffet at a great price. It was a short cab ride from the train station. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in July. It was boiling hot, but still everyone at the hotel was smiling and giving you a helpful hand. Excellent breakfasts! The only drawback was lack of a proper bar to have a drink;-(
Good location, though ! Highly recommended !

Just spent 4 lovely days in Gdansk, staying at the Qubus hotel. The advertising hoarding that greets you on the gable wall claims it to be "The Best Hotel In Gdansk", "according to TripAdvisor". It's certainly a good, clean, modern, value for money place to rest one's head, but come on, this hotel lacks one vital ingredient before it can make any such claim ( on my rating scale at least..lol...) and that's a BAR.......sorry, but partitioning off 4 small tables from the restaurant when not required does not constitute a bar.
But that's my only real gripe about this hotel, the restaurant food was very good, and reasonably priced, although perhaps the menu is a little on the short side, the breakfast is excellent, and the free wi-fi/internet an unexpected bonus.
Something that often gets a mention when researching this hotel, is the underpass you have to use to reach the main town, it certainly isn't a plus point for the Qubus, but upon using it day and night, i never encountered anything more menacing than an abundance of rather well fed spiders patrolling the ceilings and walls. To me, Poland in general is a far safer place to be walking the streets than the UK,
One thing you shouldn't miss during your stay is the free boat trip around the marina, it runs on the hour until 4pm (seasonal i guess !) and was another unexpected highlight of the stay, so in conclusion, would i recommend this hotel ? Well yes, but only after shopping around and getting a good deal for it, i'm sure there are better hotels in Gdansk but is it worth paying the extra for them ????
