Holland House's staff were helpful before we even arrived: we requested one of the rooms at the very top of the building, and on arrival found our perfect hotel room. It was up in the roof (there's a lift), spacious, airy, nicely decorated, clean, and generously heated. The fresh flowers shown in the pictures on the hotel's website were only there for photography day, but that is quite normal in the trade. The daily housekeeping standard is very high, though we had to go and buy some shampoo and conditioner. The location on the Long Market cannot be faulted, with the quite amusing exception of the audible soundtrack of the Kleopatra restaurant opposite, which starts at about 8am, continues until the evening, and is composed of the same Jamie Woon album on loop. The view can't really be better, especially once you work out how to unscrew the safety bar that otherwise stops you from opening the window fully.

We pre-paid without breakfast, which turned out to be a good decision. Breakfast is widely available elsewhere nearby, especially if you like a decent coffee and a typically under-sweet Polish pastry for about 10 PLN per person. Many of the cafés don't open until 11am on Sundays, at least out of season. We did breakfast at Holland House one morning, but the coffee was pretty bad and the buffet breakfast not really to our taste. The fruit offering was whole apples and oranges in a bowl. If you like macaroni putanesca, or slices of cold pork with cranberry sauce, then perhaps Holland House's breakfast is for you after all. (Yes of course I ate both!)

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Long Market almost certainly have the best view, though rooms at the back may be (e...

Very elegant room, though without balcony and without good view from the window. The hotel style is fascinating, reminding an old classic style. It is collocated in the very main street of the city centre, very close to the Neptune statue. It's just a pity that breakfast was not included, everything was pleasant.

Just next to the Radisson, in the middle of the walking street, meaning great location. Charming hotel, spacious and clean rooms, with a nice breakfast. Very helpfull and serviceminded staff! Organised transport, quick replies and gave their reccommendations for gdansk. The city was smaller than we thought, so you can easily combine with a trip to Sopot.

Stayed for one night recently with friends. In the centre of the old town, so a great location and we had a double room that looked out over Dlugi Targ with a view that was lovely. The room was clean and modern, the staff friendly and helpful. The only thing that let the place down was an awful smell emanating from downstairs in the restaurant / bar. Don't know what caused it, but it made the stay truly unpleasant. Hope they will remedy it because otherwise, its a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have the better view.

Beautiful and huge room, big and well equipped bathroom, tasty breakfast, excellent restaurant, and it is NOT so noise, as someone wrote! It has only one minus - there is no private parking, only public in 850 meters, but it situated in the very center of Gdansk, on the Dlugi Targ street, so it worth to walk a little bit.

We asked for a quiet back room and sure enough, even though located in the heart of the tourist street it was just fine. The hotel is really charming and the people very nice and informed. We had a terrific large room but no, there was no A/C because it's probably seldom needed and it pulls a lot of electricity. This is our third summer visit to Gdansk and it has never been unbearably hot.
The one problem I could imagine is that when booking, at least through booking.com, there is NO refund policy. You can't cancel and get a refund. If you are unsure, then beware.

We seldom eat at a hotel's restaurant but kept going back for wonderful dinners at Holander located on the ground floor. We thought the breakfast for 10 euros in the hotel (not the restaurant which is closed mornings is pricey, unless you are a giant eater. There are other inexpensive alternatives on Dlugi Targ.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the main street if noise bothers you. If not, it's pretty colorfu...

just back from Holland House Gdansk. We had a triple room which was very spacious.
I would mention that its very hot at night and there is no air conditioning, the noise level on a saturday night meant you could not open the windows,

However the location was superb and the hotel was reasonable.
Sopot is worth a visit only about 20e by taxi and beautiful if the weather is nice

Room Tip: ask for rooms at the rear of hotel because of noise from party goers on Saturdays
