“Good location - very good hotel for the area”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

Nice to stagger in to the Hilton consistency after some of my recent Eastern European travel shocks. Had a great room with a turret which my wife would enjoyed had she been there.

Service and food was good. Room was great. Modern and updated Hilton with good service across the board and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for the one with the turret!! Top floor, down hall from Heath Club and a 'night bar' tha...

A very good hotel with fantastic veiws over the river. The breakfast buffet is rich and the food is good.
The rooms are spacious and the beds are good. Lovely bathrooms with bath tub and separat shower.
We've stayed here at several occasions and we always feel welcomed and well taken care of.
Within short walking distance to the Madison shopping centre, the Old town and even the train station if you'd like to take a trip off to Sopot....

Room Tip: Pay the extra to upgrade you to a room on the river side. The view is worth it.

Excellent for price (around £70 British pounds) for room ( but not the ones overlooking the river), cooked breakfast and good service.
Reception staff all English speaking and helpful.
Location excellent for visiting the old town, museums and cathedrals.
Area safe to walk around in, clean and very good value for money.
Watch the price of a taxi to/from airport. Can charge the earth...should be around 50 zloty, but hotel has a flat fare of 70 going back, unless you use one of the vouchers in the free guides which will get it for 50 zloty...but no big deal it's just a few pounds different....

Room Tip: Higher rooms less noisy.

We regularly stay at this hotel. Beautiful situation on the River. Short walk to the Old Town. Like all Hilton's it is the staff that make it and this is no exception. They all speak English in various degrees (but, better than my Polish!) and could not be more obliging. The restaurant is very good. They do not have an executive lounge which is a pity, but there are many compensations.

The hotel is in a nice location, near the water. The rooms that overlook the water are more expensive. The other rooms are nice and big, a bit noisy if you are in the rooms right over reception IF you have the window open. Breakfast is delicious and varied.

My second time in Gdansk in a few months, first time i stopped at a hostel just along the road from The Hilton. Loved the Hilton, no problem checking in, but when we got to our room my friend and i found we were sharing a bed, as the hotel was full there was little reception could do that night, we need not have worried, the bed was that big my friend and i slept soundly without knowing the other was there-bear in mind that i am a 6 foot 3 inch male.
The hotel bar was expensive by Polish standards, but there are bars along the front you can go too. For nightlife go through to Sopot, great place about 20 minutes and 50 zloty in a taxi. We were a group of 35 lads on a stag do and had a great time touring the bars of Gdansk and Sopot, and it was nice to be able to use the steam room to get rid of the hangover.

Yet again a wonderful stay at a Hilton hotel.

I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel and paid about 60 PLN. When I was leaving the hotel to the airport as the hotel offers a taxi for me. The price was fixed, that 70 PLN.

A tip is to avoid the taxi drivers who are in the arrivals hall. The trip to Gdansk can be very expensive. Do a little research before the trip so as to avoid being cheated.

There is so much positive to say about this hotel, but I want to start by telling about the good service. Due to late departure, I sent an email to the hotel to check on the possibility of late check-out. Shortly after I sent the e-mail I received a reply that I could keep the room for several hours after normal check out time. The staff were positive and pleasant and the service offered was excellent.

When I checked in I was told that I was free upgrade to a deluxe room overlooking the river. As a HHonors Gold member I also got free breakfast and free high speed internet access. All guests get free internet access, but only the lowest speed. If you want a faster connection, it costs 19 PLN for an hour and 60 PLN for a day.

The receptionist was very pleasant and check-in procedure was very effective.

The room was spacious with a large bathroom. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub. I particularly like toiletries from Peter Thomas Roth.

In the room there was a large bed, with a firm mattress and five pillows. I slept very well. There were also two armchairs, a small table and a sofa.

In the room there was a flat screen television, with a pretty good selection of English-language television channels. There was also a mini bar. Prices were extremely low compared to prices in my country (Norway). Some examples: beer (33 cl) from 10 PLN, soft drinks (33 cl) from 12 PLN and alcohol (5 ml) from 15 PLN.

It was also great opportunities to work with a large desk and a very comfortable office chair. The hotel also offers its own business center on the ground floor, open 24/7.

Breakfast was very good, with a large selection of both cold and hot dishes. They also offer a service called "made-to-order", ie you can order different dishes that the chef prepares for you. The freshly squeezed orange juice was perfect. On weekdays, breakfast is served from 0630 to 1030 AM and on weekends from 0630 to 1100 AM.

The hotel has a restaurant called "Mercato restaurant" situated on the ground floor. The hotel also has 2 bars, I can highly recommend the bar located on the 5th floor. Good drinks and a excellent viewpoint to some of the land marks of Gdansk.

I used the room service a couple of times. The service was very fast.

The hotel is centrally located and it was just a few minutes walk to the main street of the old city.

The hotel itself is almost worth a trip to Gdansk. I'm going to go back to Gdansk and Gdansk Hilton will be my first choice when it comes to accommodation.
