Located between Old Town and Shipyards

Review of Hilton Gdansk

I overall liked the Hilton a lot. The atmosphere was rather quiet and calm. Friendly checkin, nice room (let's call it "park view"). The location is great as you can go very quickly to the "Old Town" as well as to the Solidarnosc Museum and the old shipyards - the latter have a very special atmosphere. Great if you enjoy taking pictures of former industrial areas.

There are numerous mini markets around the hotel for your basic food and drink needs.

Dear FrankT424,

Thank you very much for these kind words. I am glad that you mentioned so many advantages of the Hilton Gdańsk hotel. I hope that you would like to come again and, for example, visit our Mercato restaurant, which has been appreciated by the Gault & Millau restaurant guide or have a drink at the High5 bar on the fifth floor. I invite you again and I guarantee that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable and luxurious again.

Yours sincerely,
Magdalena Mucha, General Manager

Decided to book a junior suite at this hotel for four nights after reading good reviews here. Very good choice! The hotel is situated very conveniently next to the river with plenty of restaurants nearby. Most places of interest for a tourist is withing easy walking distance. For example the WW2 museum is ten minutes walk.
The lay-out of the hotel is very nice with a cozy bar/restaurant/and reception area.
Breakfast is fabulous, and the food in the restaurant is good as well (the wild boar is recommended). Staff is efficient and helpful with good english skills.
The junior suite was very nice. Windows looking over the river from both bed- and living room. Big bathroom, and the heating worked well in all rooms.
Like I wrote, you are in the middle of town. Area is quiet, but really nice. The central square is only three minutes away by foot.
Any downsides? The wi-fi was a little bit slow in the room sometimes. That's it really.
Highly recommended!

Room tip: A junior suite is well worth the extra sloties.

Dear Sihanoukville,

thank you so much for taking your time. I am glad that your recent stay was comfortable. You wrote that you liked our breakfast - do you know that Mercato is one of the best restaurants in the whole country? I hope you will come back and visit the High5 bar.

Booked 3 rooms for a weekend with friends in december. Hotel itself was ok as earlier, good beds, clean, ok breakfast.
HOWEVER. We got a note on the bed the second day saying the hotel was hosting a party for some company that night and that there will be music playing til 3 at night. Sleeping was absolutely out of question till early morning as the music was roaring without stop and LOUD. Calling the reception had no effect. The rest of the weekend was spent half tired for all of us.
It is hard even to believe that a Hilton manager can decide to put his hotels good reputation completely at risk like this just for some extra profit for one night.
We and other People who like a night of quiet sleep can unfortunately never trust this hotel again.

Our group of 6 (aka 3 rooms) spent New year 2018-2019 in Gdansk, staying at Hilton. Location of the hotel is great, easy walk by the canal to the main streets and restaurants nearby. Hotel rooms like any Hilton; spacious, great bed, large bathroom, ample amenities like free 2 bottles of water. Breakfast was delicious, food options plentiful. Nice rooftop swimming pool and a bar. Free wifi.
We had 3 different views from the room: one against next biulding, second into the inside courtyard (!) and the third to the street. Not much of a view of any, but we werent there to stay in the room, so this was no biggie to us.
My only complaint would be the attitude of the staff, especially in the restaurants: they were rude, if described with one word. Maybe it is cultural or language type of problem, but we were expecting standard Hilton style where customers are welcomed and special requests fulfilled but our expectations were not met.
We had nice stay in Gdanks overall, and our encounter with the rude waiters left only a hint of sour taste to our trip. We would even return to Hilton, but lower our expectations a bit what comes to the service level.

We spent here 3 nights celebrating the New Year's Eve. The hotel is located near the river, and has a short distance walk to the old town. The staff was really nice and helpful. Our clean and comfortable room was facing the river , providing a great view to the ferry wheel and Gdansk sign. The breakfast is varied and tasty, and the dinner we had at the Mercato restaurant was unforgettable. Thank you for a great experience.
