I stayed at Villa Pan Tadeusz as a solo traveler with no car in the summer. It was cheerful and bright, seemed new, and my room was clean. Some of the staff spoke English, but when communication wasn't working google translate did the trick. The hotel serves breakfast on the balcony each morning overlooking Gdansk- as a budget traveler, I don't expect this kind of amenity and found it really relaxing and nice. If you have a car, they offer parking. If you're walking, it is a 10-15 minute walk up a hill once you get off the tram, and I wouldn't recommend that walk in the winter. Otherwise, this place exceeded my expectations and proved that I didn't need to spend a ton of money for a nice, clean, comfortable and convenient hotel in Gdansk. The hotel was larger than it seemed and organized into wings- it could definitely accommodate a group of 6-10 in one wing.
Villa Pan Tadeusz is located in the Gdansk neighborhood of Siedlce: take the tram to Siedlce at the end of the line, go up the stairs at the back of the church by the tram stop, make a left when you get to the top and walk down Maryli street, make a right when it ends and the hotel will be on the street on your left.
