A museum which makes you cry!

Built around a tale of war-time oppression, this is a museum which nicely captures a moment in time and celebrates the heroic actions of ordinary people trying to protect a valuable heritage. This is only a small museum, but it packs a punch! ...and don't miss the 'wall' at the rear of the museum. It's not just the monument it appears to be on a quick glance. We oldies (accompanied by our 15 year-old granddaughter) thought the area was just a mural at the end of a courtyard, until the junior member of our crew related the mural to the area in which we were standing! Very moving.

This little museum (part was closed when we were there) is a fascinating testament to the bravery and dedication of the postal workers in September 1939.

Incredibly moving experience. The monument situated very close by is in itself moving. Once again the courage of Polish civilians is displayed and the atrocities committed against them leave one sad and confused.

This muzeum covers a fascinating episode in Polish and European history when the Nazi's invading Poland, thus sparking off World War Two. This museum isn't very big but the exhibits are superb and provide context to what took place and subsequent events. You can't help but feel for the brave postal workers who resisted the Nazi's and were executed. You also learn about the history of the Polish postal system and the relationship between the Germans and Poles in what was then Danzig.
