“A must see”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

This must be one of the most underrated sights that we saw in our trip through Poland. This museum is a must see when visiting Gdansk. The history of the postal workers, their resistance and the plight that they suffered was just heart wrenching. The museum is small, and well worth the visit

“Polish Post Office”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

The large monument symbolized the struggle of the Polish People. Inside the museum are artifacts and materials showing historical events that occurred in Poland, specifically in Gdansk. It is inspiring and educational. Some of the materials are described in English so you will not be totally lost. The museum is nestled among homes and businesses that it looks like any other ordinary structure surrounding it. You need to find it and when you do, you won't be disappointed. So much history

“Important Event, but Often Misunderstood”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

The Nazi attack on the Polish Post Office in Danzig on September 1, 1939 was an event of historic importance, but its full meaning is not always understood. One cannot underestimate the courage of the workers there, but is important to understand that not everyone working there was engaged in the delivery of letters from Poland. There is considerable evidence that the post office was also an outpost for Polish intelligence in the pro-Nazi Free City of Danzig. That was only natural, and had it not been used as a listening post, the Polish government would have been criticized for failure to protect its population.

Having said that, it is an important attraction to see. The monument outside the post office itself is beautiful in its tortured depiction of the event. The museum is modest in size, but no less stirring. You must see this.

“Royal Mail!!”

A museum which makes you cry!

Built around a tale of war-time oppression, this is a museum which nicely captures a moment in time and celebrates the heroic actions of ordinary people trying to protect a valuable heritage. This is only a small museum, but it packs a punch! ...and don't miss the 'wall' at the rear of the museum. It's not just the monument it appears to be on a quick glance. We oldies (accompanied by our 15 year-old granddaughter) thought the area was just a mural at the end of a courtyard, until the junior member of our crew related the mural to the area in which we were standing! Very moving.
