“Great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2013

Great modern hotel, with good facilities, near the centre of Gdansk but in a quiet side street.
Rooms very good, good service, and great value for money.
The parking near hotel is on the street, but not normally a problem.

Room Tip: Free wifi Only street parking

Visited Gdansk for a large family celebration. Booked directly by phone and spoke to Agnieszka who was so helpful and very efficient answering my emails with various queries I had. I mentioned to her that 3 of our party were celebrating special events. How surprised and delighted they were to find, on arrival in their rooms, a bottle of wine and a lovely note of congratulations from the hotel! What a lovely touch. The rooms were very spacious, spotless, modern with very comfortably beds. The room got a bit too warm during the night and found it difficult to adjust the temp. (it was -14 outside though and covered with snow). All our party found the breakfast great. Hot bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and lots of cold meats and cheeses and much more. The staff was exceptionally friendly and kept asking if we had enough of everything. Nothing was a bother. There is a nice bar downstairs with also very friendly staff. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. It's a lovely stroll (about 10mins) along by the river to the main Long Street (ul Dluga) but on route you MUST walk up Mariacka Street! We saw it as a magical winter wonderland covered in snow but I'm sure it's even more beautiful in sunny weather. From start to finish we had a great experience at The Admiral and would not hesitate in reccommending it to anyone visiting Gdansk.

The hotel is perfectly located, two minutes from Motlawa river, but do not expect interesting views from the room. I stayed there for one night and in the middle of the week there were only few people there. Good design, wide and clean rooms. My bathroom did not have bathtub, shower only. I did not like breakfast because of untasty juices (probably made from concentrate).

Fresh and modern hotel, clean design/layout. Well situated for day excursions; everything is close. Kind of boring view from the rooms, but if you travel to Gdansk with all it's history you will probably not focus on hotel room view... .)
Friendly staff, heard at least four languages amongst staff; Polish, English, Italian and German. A bit boring breakfast but ok. Could recommend going out for breakfast, several good places nearby. But hotel Admiral is à good stay, recommends it!

We came by bus from the airport to the old town/railway station and could walk to the hotel (10-15 min). Smooth check-in; my special requests were honored. Friendly staff without exception. Clean and quiet room, WLAN and a good breakfast were included. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. No car needed to explore the city from here - everything is close! Meanwhile I had my third stay here - and certainly not the last.

Very disappointed with this '4 star' hotel. This is a hotel for polish and German people, even the receptionist said so herself! No English speaking tv channels, purely German style food and the bed is like lying on lead. Location is fantastic and hotel is very clean but the staff are not the best... At breakfast this morning the waitress was on her mobile for a good 10 while I waited for toast.
