I was thoroughly pleased with my stay at the Mercure Hevelius (now renamed Stare Miasto). Staff was helpful, the view of the Old Town from my 13th floor room was wonderful, breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. You can't ask for a better location: Galleria Madison one block away, train station five minutes' walk away, and the Dlugi Targ ten minutes' walk away. My only issue is that the rooms are all the same size (except for the suites) and that they are very tiny. Not a problem for me when I travel alone, but I could see these rooms being a real squeeze for two people. On the other hand, the Mercure is a real bargain. I have paid rather more in Gdansk and gotten rather less. Very highly recommended for individual travelers... for couples, not so sure.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Old Town

Excelent hotel in the middle of Gdansk. Very comfortable place to rest after seesighting, shopping or conference. If you want to have a beautiful view and a WIFI connection-ask for 6th or higher floor. At breakfast -ask for a coffe from a coffemaker, its much better. Clean, friendly and nice place.

Very nice hotel in the center of Gdansk.Close to the old town.Very good service at the reseption and the lobby bar! The women at the bar ( i dont remeber her name) was very service minded.
Good food. The room was nice and you can get the view of old town or cityviev.
I will stay there again for sure!

Room Tip: ask for the room on the high floor!

We have spent 3 nights in Mercure. We had room with old town view and it was magnificent. Room was clean, a little bit small but still with good standard. Big double bed, TV, fresh bottled water every day. Bathroom like bathroom everything in right place :) Shower perfect. We didn't order breakfast because was too expensive, with this price you can buy dinner for 2 in the town.
4 elevators quite handy for 16 floors, nice lobby with bar.
Perfect location close to shopping mall, close to old town, 15 km to airport.
Reception staff very helpful and always nice and smiling.
