The hotel doesn't look really beautiful from outside but inside it's great. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The staff very friendly. We had a great view from the 13th floor. The city center is in walking distance.

If you like to sleep long in the morning you will love the rooms. Absolutely quiet and perfect dark curtains.

Breakfast was good. Service in the restaurant not perfect. Waitrons tend to ignore guest while having private talks.

Hotel was a great location, only 5 minute walk from the railway station when we arrived and 10 minute walk from the old town. The shuttlebus to the airport from outside the hotel was ideal for our return journey to the airport and very reasonable. The hotel was very clean & ultra modern! Very good breakfast served with a wide variety of food available. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed in Mercure Gdansk Hevelius for 3 nights (19-21.X)

The hotel and room were good!! (excl. elevator)
The hotel is in very good location for the city center and near the historical town, close to all.
5 minute walk of the train station, 1 minute shopping mall Madison.
Staff at the hotel were excellant, very friendly and helpful!! I had a superior room with LCD, Comfortable King beds, safe, free internet!!! Room is clean and quite large.
The buffet breakfast included all we need!!! (sausages and bacon, bread with a selection of cheeses and meats, fruits).
Parking – 10 euro per day!!! Terrible elevators!!!
Price for 4* hotel is 95 euro per day B&B – I think I could have got even better quality for same price.

This hotel is much more sofisticated than the pictures and video shows. The service is friendly. The rooms are more of designrooms and it is very clean. Ask for a room with a view over Gdansk on the higher floors, fantastic! Good location even if the nearby area is a bit dull it only takes 5-10 minutes to get to the charming old city.

OK, lets get it out of the way first. The rooms are smaller than normal.

What I mean by that is that they have obviously renovated the rooms to a high standard with modern Mercure interiors but the rooms were built in an earlier time with less space. I guess they would have the choice of leaving out the table and chairs at the window or just packing everything a bit closer together. Yes, you do tend to bump into things as you move around the room, but unless you really need your space, its no big deal.

Now the plus side - the hotel is 5 minutes walk from the railway station, mainly underground. If flying from Gdansk airport, you've got it made! The public bus runs to the railway station but there is a mini bus which runs from outside the hotel at times convenient to flights for 10ZL each. Although it's independent of the hotel, reception will make a reservation for you. It gets better..... straight across the road is the Airport City Terminal. If you take your hold baggage in to their office between 24hrs and 3hrs before your flight, they will check it in (during office hours) and you will not need to see it again till it comes off the luggage belt at your destination - brilliant!

Back to the rooms, clean, modern and comfortable - quality bathroom fittings and if you ask for a room facing the old town, amazing views. The window in our room opened so you could choose between natural ventilation or air conditioning.
