This hotel is a must when visiting Gdansk, situated on the water front and in the centre of the old town, the location is amazing. The staff are very helpful and professional and there is parking outside the hotel, this was very helpful considering we drove in during the St Dominique Festival. The breakfast caters for every possible taste. We were spoilt with the room, overlooking the water, a huge room with good facilities. The carpets were not just vacuumed but steamed cleaned. An wonderful experience and would highly recommend Hanza, we will definitely be back.

We wanted to see the old town in Gdansk. This hotel had the perfect location. Old buildings just outside the door. A short walk to Maria church. In our 3 night stay we had dinner at the hotel twise. Really good food and professional service. I would love to go back there!

just come back from a 3 night break in Gdansk where we stayed at the Hotel Hanza . it is in an excellent position for exploring the city close to all shops and restaurants . the Hotel is beautiful .modern. clean . the staff were very friendly and helpful .The breakfast had a choice of continental or hot breakfast the buffet cold table was a banquet with anything you could think of plenty of food to suit all tastes .we had our evening meal there one evening and it was lovely and not expensive
the whole weekend was a great experience .went up the river on the Galleon good fun. they do a good mulled wine to keep the cold out . an excellent indoor market . but it closes at 3pm on a Saturday all in all a lovely place to visit and we will definately be going back and staying at the Hanza again

Room Tip: we had 205 a junior suite

We had a very nice stay and a room with a view! Splendid breakfast, reasonable good food. The three days were busy, but we enjoyed the time we spent at the hotel. We found an interesting antiquarian bookshop nearby and the grosery market. At the Gedansk University we found a good and cheap restaurant just outside of campus, Manekin (doll), with special dishes.

The location of this hotel is the main selling point. Although the entrance at the back is deceiving, the hotel actually faces onto the riverside. It's really convenient for the old town and the rooms are spacious and modern. Everything from check in to check out was swift and painless. Lovely welcoming hotel.

I would recommend drinks in the bar at night where the service and cosy atmosphere are brilliant.
The only thing for me was that as a regular business traveller, when I am travelling for pleasure I try to stay in more 'local feel' hotels. I don't like waking up feeling like I could be anywhere. Hanza for me was therefore a fantastic business hotel but if you want something a but different and more 'polish' then this isn't it.

Also when we were leaving we asked for a taxi and there was a hotel taxi outside. The hotel taxi cost us 100pln whereas the normal taxi coming from the airport had cost 60pln. Just be aware if you go for the hotel taxi it is more expensive.

My first visit to Gdansk......

Read the review's before i went and i wasn't dissapointed. The location does not get any better and we had a room facing the river. The room was immaculate with all the necessary amenities. The service was first class and we ate in the restaurant one night and experienced fantastic food and wine.Plenty of choices for breakfast and very well prepared. The staff were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction's regarding sightseeing and recommended restaurant's.
Do take a trip to Sopot situated next to the Baltic sea as it is only a 20 min ride in a taxi and well worth a trip.Gdansk old town is quaint and picturesque and the variety of unique buiding's will keep your camera busy.Plenty of history about this city to discover and the many museum's
etc will leave you well informed.
We ate in a restaurant named Kubicki which was recommended by staff at the hotel and again we were treated to first class service and food. This restaurant is situated a few meters from the Hilton Hotel also situated next to the river.
We spent 4 day's there and loved every minute of our experience.

Room Tip: A room facing the river is a must.
