Group of six girls, stayed for 3 nights.

The rooms were nice and well sized, and the bed was very comfortable.
Separate rooms for toilet and shower.

We did not have breakfast included. On the arrivalday we arrived after the breakfast was closed, but we asked if it was possible to get some food still.
The staff went out of their way to serve us a breakfast worthy of royalty, and we could not be more satisfied. An excellent first impression of the hotel.
We had breakfast at the hotel everyday, and it was always very nice. So was the staff :)

The hotel has a great location, close to "everything".

We would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for your feed-back about the stay in Novotel Gdańsk Centrum. It is a great pleasure to receive such a very positive information concerning the hotel and the staff attitudes.
The hotel is situated on Granary Island in an area with an extremely rich history and culture. Tourists visiting Gdansk appreciate very much that we are just a short walk away from the Old Town, near to important monuments.
I will share your opinion with my team. They will be very happy because each positive comments is like special award for us

We would like to thank you again for your comments and we hope to see you again when your travels bring you back to the area!

Great hotel for the money and location! Very close to the old town of Gdansk
It has standard Novotel rooms and bathrooms. It was very clean and quiet.
However, what distinguishes it from many other hotels is its really nice staff. Specifically the hotel manager who has constantly gone out of her way to make sure the guest are well looked after. I wish other hotels had a manager like her.

I will be definitely staying here again on my next visit.

Reviewed 14 January 2014

I stayed here with a small group of guys (3 to be precise) in December 2012, thus it is a slightly late review.

The taxi ride from the airport was smooth and fast, thanks to the new road which was probably built along with the new airport terminal for Euro 2012. The weather wasn't the greatest, but we could make out the entrance in the fog when our driver dropped us off ;)

The entrance hall was nice and shiny and looked recently refurbished, with a large open space, a bar area as well as an Xbox station, which seems to be a trademark for many Novotels?

Check-in was simple - we were given a twin room (for the 2 other guys) and a room with queen bed + sofa (for me).
As other reviewers have stated - the hallways look a bit tired, with a carpet that could possibly go into retirement. This impression stretches to some extent to the rooms as well, as the carpet looks quite worn here too, although it otherwise has the 'classic Novotel design'. The twin room had two bathrooms, which is unusual - I am not sure if this is the Novotel standard? A shower cabinet is head and shoulders above a bathtub, so I always welcome this, although a walk-in shower as some others have is my preferred option.
Most of the rooms face away from the major road, and are thus fairly quiet. It was december, and there was no air conditioning, which I can't complain about. Thankfully the window could be opened, so I used it for fresh air.

Breakfast was pretty good compared to the fairly low extra cost as long as it was booked along with the room in the first place. Separately it would have cost 42 PLN, which is quite steep for Poland.
The location of the hotel is very good for sightseeing, it is a mere stone's throw away from the Old Town, as it is on the so called Granary Island, which is right next to the river Motlawa, which you cross to get into the Old Town.

At the time of booking, I had corresponded directly with the hotel and due to a late flight home, was promised that we could keep the rooms until 16. However, when asking about this on the final day of our stay, this seemed to be something which had to be brought up in the council of cleaners before it was ok, which seemed strange - I even showed the correspondence as proof. The promise was kept in the end, but I wonder if staff differ in this regard - that some are positive towards it while others are not - or it differs by gender?

I would like to visit Gdansk again when it is greener and warmer, as it is a lovely city with a couple of excellent restaurants (especially Goldwasser!)
But I may look elsewhere for a place to stay.

We stayed out of season - January - and so got a great deal. Would probably give 4 stars if I paid full price. Anyway, it's a modern, spotless hotel in a great location. Staff are good, rooms are good. Can't fault it in any way.

No old world charm here. A modern hotel next but not in the old city centre. Adequate accomodation seemingly more suited to business travellers than vacationers. A little sterile but thats probably due to it being relatively new. Need to replace the hallway and room carpets.
Front desk staff could be a little more accommodating and friendly.
