“Could do better, in the bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2013 via mobile

Now this is a lovely hotel. Beautiful location, beautiful buildings. The room was small but big enough for a one night stay. The pool area was fantastic, perfect for a swim and a jacuzzi after a flight with one of Europe's cheaper airlines. The staff were extremely helpful at reception and in the Spa. However after checking in and a swim I, as many other business travellers would, fancied a beer. I was pointed in the direction of a bar within a restaurant. This is where it could be better. The bar area was not staffed, and getting a drink relied on catching someone passing to serve a drink. On a warm night this would have been a lovely place to sit out and enjoy a drink. Sadly not. Once I sat in the restaurant for dinner, which was excellent, they couldn't stop offering me drinks. All in all, I would come back here for a one night stay.

Every time we visit Trójmiasto we can hardly resist to pop in Dwór Oliwski, although it seems there are better options with sea view are private beach. But come on! Baltic Sea is not the warm ocean and Trójmiasto is not tropical resort so what you really choose is the perfect place to stay. And this perfect place is undoubtfully Dwór Oliwski. Beautifully designed buildings accompanied by small river, water mill, water basins and amazing forest make this place like a fairy tale. When cleanliness of the hotel is taken into account there is nothing to complain about! What guests see is the perfect condition of everything. The owners are trying so carefully take care about this place as it would their very own home place and it feels like home. They got perfect SPA where therapists are professionals in their job which is not so often in this country. SPA is a must. Take this face treatment and they make you indulge. The perfect pool is a must. And the restaurant where ... well the food is perfect, well cooked and prepared and the card is attractive but the breakfast. Please this is THE Breakfast. Overall service - this is quality service. You can hardly notice them but you got this feeling you are perfectly serviced. And to make one complaint in this review - they really have to do something about the speed of the service at the restaurant. It can't be like that you wait for the meal so long, I mean it very long. Apart from that no excuses one of the top notch places in Poland.

This hotel was billed as luxury accomodation and yet it was the same price as more standard accomodation elsewhere. The reason for this is it's proximity to Gdansk city center....nowhere near !!
That being said there is a tram system that will take you directly to the heart of the historic sea port town.
The hotel is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and professional and the spa facilities are top notch.
I will have to confess the best part of the whole experience for me was the breakfast. I still rave about it and it remains maybe my favourite breakfast ever. That is quite a compliment coming from me as i am huge on the most important meal of the day. It is basically an entire room of choices. From smoked meats and fish to cheeses, fruits, eggs, cereals, bread, yoghurt and th list goes on. There are plenty of drink options too including Champagne for those who like to start the day the way they want to continue it.

On the entrance above reception doors you can see 5 stars but in reality this is certainly not 5 stars hotel, not by content, not by price. However, if you need to have some really quiet and relaxing time while staying in Gdansk, this is definitely place to stay. Hotel seems to be restaurated not long ago and there were still some small works in progress. Old fashion furnished rooms are exceptionally clean. Nature around is beautiful and therefore hotel location. In regards to restaurant; it is really decent is nice selection of dishes and supported with good wine selection. For these who are interested: German football team for EU championship in Poland 2012 choose this hotel to stay in.

We stayed for 3 nights in October when the autumn leaves were at their best in the beautiful grounds. We had excellent service and the spacious well furnished rooms were kept very clean even though we never saw any maids. Fantastic underground vaulted ceiling cellar/wine room (although more choice by the glass would be better). Lovely indoor pool and spa and the full body massage was good value. Good food in the restaurant - more expensive than city restaurants, but received complimentary extra items. You need a hire car or taxi to get into Gdansk, but not a long journey.

Very good service, nice individual rooms, good spa and massages for reasonable prices. Nice food in room service, but quite pricy in the high end restaurant that belongs to the hotel. The location is perfect for trips to gdansk and sopot and the surroundings.

The room was comfortable, and clean. Room service was tasty and wellpriced. Indoor pool and spa section was very pleasant, steam sauna, regular sauna, and herbal sauna. Relaxing. Nice grounds around the hotel. Lack of sunchairs adjacent to the pool was a tad annoying. Breakfast and dinner was overpriced, and we didnt chose either. Futhermore, from looking at the dinnermenu, it all seemed a bit pretentious, promising a quality that I doubt the chefs could deliver. The hotel is located a ten minute stroll from Oliwa, where youll find transport to Gdansk and Sopot by tram. We rented bikes from the hotel. They were terrible, old and badly maintained. My bikes handlebar came loose after 5 minutes and it needed repairing. Nice gravelroads to bike on, around the hotel in the woods.

All in all a pleasant experience.
