We stayed in the Dom Aktora with our two daughters (ages 10 & 11). The apartment-style room was very comfortable. The kitchen was nice, as was the bathroom and we liked the balcony. Staff was helpful. Great location for sightseeing.

Dom Aktora is located just about 2 minutes to the river/city centre and about 5-10 minutes to the train/bus station.
The receptionist was really nice and helpfull person. She could speak English, German and some Czech as well. It was just bit strange, that she couldn't help me with bus number going to Westerplatte as she didn't know.
I've met two other ladies during my stay there and they all were helpfull.

Rooms are CLEAN with own shower, toilet and TV. Mineral water and tea seems to be for free. They also offer a free WI-FI, however during my stay, it didn't work. Buffet breakfast were just generous, so we were bit surprised.
Location is very nice and quiet, so you don't have to worry about noisy tourists.

After laughing in the face of the spotty, stuck-up receptionist at the Hilton, I turned the corner to find the Dom Akora. An absolutely top place to stay. As soon as I walked through the door, in full bike gear, I was warmly greeted by Anna with an "English or German?" So not only is it bang on location wise, Anna was determined to help me orientate myself in Gdansk. With stars scribbled on my free map, I was set. There was secure parking for bike too, which is a bug plus, right outside my window.
+++ Great facilities / the Turbo Shower from heaven- very important after riding from England for 3 days! Great price. The friendliest staff I had encountered in my entire trip. Good food.
--- Those pesky kids were as loud as chuff! But then we all were at that age.

I can totally recommend this place to stay for anyone who wants a great place from which to explore Gdansk!

We found this excellent hotel right in the city center of Gdansk after our originally planned hotel was overbooked. Dom Aktora turned out to be a great deal. Staff was very enchanting, room was absolutely clean and equipped with a kitchen and a comfortable bed and sofa.

Breakfast was alright, but compared to Gdansk's usual restaurant scene a more than fair deal. There is even a secured parking lot in the back.
