The Old Town was meticulously restored to look like it did centuries ago. It is clean and not overrun by kitsch. Some great restaurants and cafes. Easily walkable, with no cars. One really feels like he is in some Northern German city.

Great little town with lots of character, history and traditional polish Food. Solidarity centre a must see, didn’t make it to the WWII museum but it’s on our list for next time as that also is apparently really interesting. Will definitely be visiting again.

More and more beautiful Old Town with every year. If you are visiting Gdansk you just need to go and see some streets like Dluga, Dlugi Targ, Mariacka, Piwna, Dlugie Pobrzeze. Sit, drink and eat.

We were so amazed that Gdansk is such a beautiful and cosy city. Lots of renovation still in process. The city center is very clean, lots of colours and beautiful churches. Beatiful restaurants with very good food and prices. To explore it not in a hurry, you have to spend here not less than 3 days.

I chose to visit for a few days. What a find- the architecture is beautiful. Very much like Amsterdam. There are a lot of meusems to visit - but just wonder the streets and soak up the atmosphere. Dozens of restaurant and cafe's all at reasonable prices. The people I spoke to where all very friendly.

Had a short break in the Old Town (Mon - Fri), and enjoyed it all. Weather helped (obviously), but food was nice and not expensive. Beers are a bit limited (but visit the Irish Pub if you can find it). As we were on a history visit, WW2 museum, Post Office and Westerplatte were all on the itinerary, and each worth a visit. Take a walk along the waterfront, heading towards the shipyard, and it looks like you are out of path. But, keep going, and you will see an old disused crane (1939?) and a creepy art collection! Old metal has been used to create statues. We did the 'wheel' but to be fair, there is so much building work going on in the city, you see very little apart from tower cranes! If you stay near the tourist area, it doesn't take long to walk into the lass developed streets. Worth a visit in general, will go again.
