“Where time stopped”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2013

History is interesting. So we could not miss out on this. This beautiful museum is located in Town Hall. This place has agelessness to it. When we were here, it felt like time had stopped. The entry fee is also minimal. The museum has got an ancient look and feel that sends down shivers of déjà vu down your spine. There was this display depicting Gdansk during and before the war. It told about the unfortunate bombing of the place, how life was resumed by the people as the place built itself from scratch. We got to see really pretty oil paintings as well, which were also quite well preserved. The antiques were quite interesting to look at. The museum was well maintained, no dust particles to make you have a sneezing fit. From the top, we could see the city and the view of the glimmering, glittering city at night was breath taking. It was a view that we would not forget ever. It was not very crowded and we got to enjoy the museum in peace.

“Located in the Town Hall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

Stepped inside the main door and was more than impressed with the Great Council Hall and the Red Hall. The ceilings are fantastic and the rooms ornate.
Lots of different themed rooms follow, with exhibits of antique furniture, silver, porcelain etc. On the top floor is a lovely display of how everyday life was in Gdansk before the war.
Unfortunately, the day was wet, so we were unable to climb the tower to see the bells, but this did not mar our visit to this wonderful museum.

“Town Hall is beautiful”

The Town Hall of the Main City of Gdansk (there are two different town halls as well - of the Old Town and of the New Town), currently one of the divisions of Gdansk History Museum is really worth seeing.
