This is a good choice if you have a car and want free parking at a decent hotel within a 10 minute walk to the historic centre. The hotel room itself was fairly nice, modern bathroom. However, one thing to note is that there is no air conditioning. It was not an issue for us as it was still quite cool overnight in mid-May, and sleeping with the window was an option as it was fairly quiet overnight, at least until the music classes nearby start! Breakfast was included and was a fairly nice buffet, with an omelette station. Staff was very friendly, without exception.

Only gripe was that the wifi in our room was tricky, had to login near the door to the hallway and once on it was slower than any other hotel we have stayed at in Poland over past 10 days.

If you come by car, just come right up to the pay barrier to the parking lot and take a ticket. The hotel is at the back on the left (there are other buildings on the campus, it's a music school), but don't worry, the hotel is there, just tucked around the corner, so no need to park in the street and look for the hotel on foot like I did!

We stayed here with a view to exploring the old town of Gdansk, and were very pleased with the hotel. The location was just a 10 minute walk from the old town, the hotel car park was easy for our hire car, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was good, with a nice choice of wines, and the draft beer was lovely and cold! I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Gdansk!

Just came back from Dom Muzyka Hotel - staying there was nice and comfortable!
First I was impressed by very friendly and helpfull staff on reception, then - nice, big and clean room. To be honest, hotel looks like new!
Breakfast was very good, the choice was good as well. It was also possible to order omlet or fried eggs or pancakes... Food was good :)
Hotel is located 500m. from Gdansk old town, near by I found 2 supermarkets - nice to stay in Gdansk!

Room Tip: Rooms with the windows to inner parking place are quiter - hotel's one side is on the busy stree...

Was here in August 2012. Dom Muzyka is a good hotel with cosy rooms and only 10 mins walk into Gdansk city centre. They serve a nice breakfast with a good selection of fruits, cereal, and hot and cold meats. Recommended. Gdansk is a great city.

Thank you very much for visiting our hotel and for writing such a kind opinion.
We are very happy to hear that our breakfast lived up to your expectations.
We have lately introduced a life cooking at our breakfast and we received many positive opinions from our guests.
Apart from traditional scrambled and fried eggs you can choose pancakes with home-made raspberry sauce or chocolate cream.
You can also choose delicious omelets with filings of your choice. Omelet filled with ham, cheese and spring onion will give you an energy for the rest of the day.
We hope that we will have pleasure to host you again in the future.

My wife and I had a beautiful short stay at this hotel in late September.
The room - big, clean, comfortable. Excellent bed and matresses (we had two separate beds connected into one, the same with mattresses). Actually it was the best quality mattress we had ever slept on.
The location - the hotel is in the heart of Gdansk. 10 minutes away from the main streets of teh Old Town. Perfect.
We had rooms and the lowest level and right next to a busy street. The wondows are great. We did not hear any noise. Summer time? Don't worry, there's air conditioning so the noise is out of the question.
The hotel - it is gorgeous. The Dom Muzyka (the Musician's House) is all about music and you can feel it at once. The pictures along the corridors, the pictures in the rooms, the dining room filled with musical accessories and pictures, the menu shown as a concert booklet, even the carpets contain little motifs of musical instruments. You wish you were an artist yourself :)
The service - the front desk clerks and restaurant staff are ok. But we were astonished by Elzbieta, the lady who prepared scrambled eggs (she does that standing in front of everyone in the dining room). She served us a perfect meal and a heavens-like smile that changed our mood for the rest of the day. Unforgettable. Definitely the best professional of the place.

The Dom Muzyka Hotel is worth every price.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms located at the side of the parking/backyard. Some are charged extra though.

The reviews in tripadvisor are not wrong. We had a deluxe room facing the big inner yard and you really have to try to find things to improve. The AC made some sound every now and then. The shower was fairly small and I can imagine that for someone above 100 kg it would be a bit tight place to squeese. Beds were bit on the hard side. The person responsible for the breakfast had ate a lemon. Or several. Both mornings.

But overall the experience was very positive. Short walk to the city (we even walked from the airport bus to the hotel just to get the feeling of the city), bakery and corner store a block away, decent restaurant which is open until 23.00. The bus to westerplatte leaves just outside the hotel and there's plenty of trams going to the railway station if you do not feel like walking. The staff at the reception was always helpful regardless of the question.

However I do believe that those that stay on the side facing the major road into the city may feel differently.

I think if you are looking for a convenient place to stay you can do much worse than the Dom Muzyka. A short walk into the historic old town and also right next to the tram line that will take you to Gdanska Glowna (the station). Although much like other cities in Poland ask how to get tickets, it is never well explained (there are quite a few info desks in the city centre). I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and with a good command of English so I felt able to ask them anything. The breakfast was delicious with a buffet (check-out the pancakes) and a chef to do hot dishes to order. The room was a large twin and was clean. The bathroom was also well maintained, modern and comfortable. Voices did seem to carry somewhat in the long corridors at night. My room was inside the courtyard which was quiet, I can imagine the side overlooking the main road was anything but, so perhaps request the courtyard when you book.

The only downside for me was the lunchbox option when I had to check out early before breakfast. A small carton of apple juice, a small apple and a strong smelling cheese and kielbasa sandwhich was not appealing. Although this wouldnt be so much of a problem if you arrange travel to have the breakfast. Would come back should I be in Gdansk again.
