“Briiliant hotel - excellent value!”
Reviewed 6 February 2009

The accommodation was wonderful! 5 of us shared what turned out to be a 2 storey house! We had 3 double bedrooms, a shower room and extra toilet, fully equiped kitchen with tea and coffee provided, very spacious dining area and living room, with comfortable furniture, TV, CD player , telephone etc.
We had elected to have breakfast in the hotel and this was excellent - fresh eggs cooked whiel you waited, and a cold table of meats, cheeses, salads and smoked salmon! There were at least 10 different varieties of bread and cakes, yogurts, cereals - everthing!
When we paid after 2 nights, we requested one bill, but 5 different transactions to meet this. This was absolutely no problem, so 2 of us paid in Euros, one in zlotys and 2 by debit card (2 different ones!) I cannot think of any other hotel I have stayed in that would have been so accomodating! And the bill? 54 euros per person for 2 nights B & B!
We are definitely returning!

We stayed for 6 nights in the Neil Armstrong suite at Kobza Haus.We booked the airport transfer and were met by Peter who was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The rest of the staff were young and very pleasant too.Having an apartment attached to a hotel was a nice mix as we had plenty of room to chill in the afternoon after sightseeing and recharge before going out to eat.It was nice to have breakfast included too.
Gdansk was beautiful and the museums especially "roads to freedom" were excellent and good to do on the rainy days.Grodzisko hill was a nice walk.Malbork day trip is worthwhile but confusing as to where to go once inside if like us we were not attached to a tour group.Westerplatte was very interesting and nice going by boat.Sopot was easy to get to and nice walk up to the forest opera as well as along the pier and beach.I am a jogger and running around the South bastions was very pleasant.Jogging in the streets is still an exception in Poland though. We would be very happy to use Kobza again and would love to see how Gdansk and other areas will have changed over the next few years-still rough around the edges in places. Plenty we did not do this time also.Best meals were at Chlopskie jadlo and Cico.Dont bother with Chinese at the Beijing-it was takeaway standard.Otherwise cafes and restaurants were good.

  • Liked — Friendly staff and location
  • Disliked — stairs could be a problem for some people

We (2 adults) stayed at Kobza Haus for 2 nights. The suite included a kitchen/living room and a bedroom; it was clean and modern. The breakfast was fresh and nicely set. The only negative thing was that the room was very cold. After spending a day in a rainy and chilly weather it was quite unpleasant to stay in a cold hotel room. Fortunately, the blankets in the bed were very warm and cosy. But the best thing in Kobza Haus is its perfect location in the heart of the beautiful old city!
