“stylish decorated I think - but close to burlesque”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

This is a small hotel with only 12 rooms. Two Norwegian couples with children had six wonderful nights at this hotel - enjoyed the sun and beach.

The hotel's quirky decor hits you in the front door. Some laugh and find it interesting - others find it over the top. Impossible to give an objective assessment of taste. We found ourselves comfortable with chandeliers, large baroque chairs and mirrors in gold setting. Admits we smiled slightly….

Location: in a quiet residential area - just trains that break the silence.
We had read about the noise from the trains before we arrived. So we were a little skeptical - after a few days, we agreed this was a no problem.
Walking distance to main street (7 min), beach (10 min) and Aquapark (20 min)

The best things about this hotel:
- delicious and varied breakfast buffet
- large room that allows extra bed
- wonderful girl who cleans the rooms! Cleaned up nicely in our mess ..... Thank you

Advice to the hotel manager for improvements:
- keep track of stock - there must be enough beer and coffee to your guests
- consider the opening hours for the restaurant - now it closes a bit early in the evening. When we returned from the beach at 18 - took a quick shower - wanted to eat at Antonina - the kitchen was closed…. (all nights)

This small family hotel was very good. Rooms very clean, a little OTT on satin fabrics but otherwise very good. Continental buffet breakfast, bearing in mind is included in cost was good, including boiled or fried egg.Very obliging staff, unfortunately cash only taken as credit card machine 'not working'. Eight minute lovely walk into little town, very pretty place. One downside if you are a light sleeper, trains running very close, didnt not bother us, but would if window open in the Summer.

Have just returned from a stay at this hotel and felt it necessary to say it as it is. We booked a suite which was not as large as expected! Funnily breakfast was far from memorable until the last day when it would appear the owner was having breakfast with guests and everyone was running around.... We were even offered scrambled eggs which did not happen on the other days. In fact, we didn't see anybody, just help yourself to cold coffee, cold eggs etc. etc. It says on the website that the hotel is near to everything when, in fact, it is a bit of a walk so beware if you are having walking difficulties. The decor is very traditional and over the top in every way, but they were lacking in the finer details. Our toilet seat was broken and we complained, but nothing was done about it. We only had 3 coat hangers and one of these broke, we asked for a replacement, but didn't get one! For the price charged we did not think it was good value...... The hotel is right by the railway so sleep is lacking.....The 24 hour bar is a joke. It is part of the reception and no atmosphere whatsoever. We only had one drink there and were the only people in the bar......Whilst there is a restaurant we did not see anyone eating there at all. The staff were however very polite when we saw them!!! The hotel is very clean however.

I do not recommend staying in Villa Antonina. We booked an apartment with two rooms and big bathroom and when we arrived we got standard room with very small bathroom!! They told us it's not possible to get a room we booked. Funny is that few days before our arrival they calld us to confirm our booking! Ok, if you treat your guests like that, they won't come back. I won't.
