The Lunatic Hostel is a trendy little spot located within walking distance of the main attractions in Sopot. I traveled there with 7 friends for the Heineken Open'er festival back in summer 2013.
The hostel really does have everything you would expect within the realms of the budget. It's beautifully painted and the bathrooms/kitchen area are exactly what you need. Very clean bathrooms and cosy kitchen. There's even a Playstation 2 in the kitchen if you feel like some classic Pro Evo. Lots of room as well in the fridge for you to store your beers (which are only about 70c each in the local off license).
The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms is outstanding. If anything, the bathrooms get cleaned too often! The two people who run it work incredibly hard to maintain a very high standard, and it really does show. I almost felt bad for using the bathrooms/showers sometimes as I knew within an hour it would be cleaned again.
The hosts do everything they can do ensure you have a great stay both in the hostel, and also in Sopot. We were given all the friendly advice we needed to benefit from the offerings of Sopot. And we were even offered a lift to the airport as it was cheaper than getting a taxi.
