The homepage incl. picture which was posted on the homepage looked good to me. The price seems a bit high for Poland but because it’s a typical vacation-city and the locations sounds nice we agreed.
When we arrived we were actually shocked. The house looked old and need definitely some renovation – there were some constrictions in front of the guestrooms (so, lot of noise) but they didn’t belong to our house.
Our room was dirty, had partly broken old furniture, cables were around, no real beds just old sofas, no window just glazed door which didn’t seem safe for us, unkind leaning pictures etc.
Also the bathroom conditions were not nice: broken glass of shower, toilette seat didn’t fit, no real doors of the bathroom just kind jalousie-door which was also broken. By the way, the shared kitchen looked also bad – very chaotic, full with stuffs, so I didn’t even recognize that this room is a kitchen.
The appearance of the owner matched with this conditions. I asked if we could get another room and mention that the conditions are bad and the price too high for it respectively – but honestly, I would not even stay there if it would be for free. The lady had no another rooms and seems to be angry about my comment – nevertheless, she told us we had to pay for first night and can feel free to leave next morning, what we did. We stayed the rest of our trip in Gdanks.
In general private accommodations might be often nice, but I think we had just bad luck in this case – I recommend you keep away from Penjonat Iwona.
