"If you only came to see what you were looking for, you probably missed a lot". Once again, Wild Poland's slogan proved to be quite true for this extraordinary trip from 21 May to 28 May 2022. I do not regret having entrusted the organisation of this trip to this company, which provided impeccable services. The guide knows the nature of this region like the back of his hand, not only about the large animals, mammals and birds, but also about plants, butterflies, insects..... a living encyclopaedia about the ecosystem of the Bialowieza forest and the Biebrza marshes! Add to this an excellent knowledge of the animals' habits in the field and outstanding tracking skills! The result is a maximum optimisation of the chances of seeing wolves and various local birds (dwarf flycatcher, pigmy owl, locust, little crake, aquatic warbler, great snipe...............) to which we can add the kindness and sensitivity of the guide and driver, their exceptional availability, their remarkable attention to the group's wishes and a well-practised trip in very suitable accommodation conditions. I can only recommend this trip with Wild Poland, especially in this context disturbed by the current local political conditions which we did not suffer thanks to the guides. I prolonged the stay with my elder son and I could thus realize all the invaluable information acquired during this training course in order to avoid stumbling on observation or delicate situations with the police who are currently a little on edge in the area. On the other hand, this assessment seems to me to be quite cold next to the attention and the human warmth shared with the wild poland team during this stay. The group, essentially composed of Anglo-Saxons, was also very friendly. Philippe

"If you've only seen what you came to see, you probably missed out a lot." This is their motto, and is actually 100% correct. I've joined their tours with some particular goals, but discovered so much more.

I've been on two trips: spring festival in Bialowieza & Carpathian Mammals in October. Both really different and excellent.

My main goal was to see wolves & bison. But in the end I've seen much more and learned so much. For example, I learned a lot about tracking which is actually much more exciting than I expected. Seen so many birds in Bialowieza which got me much more excited than I would have guessed. And I learned a lot of small things on all the animals (mammals and birds). The walks are always a bit different and so beautiful. Bialowieza is really special because of their unique forest management. The Carpathians offer unique scenery with their nice hills mixed with meadows and forest.

The guides do really their best so you would see what you want to see. In the Carpathians we were a bit unlucky due to the weather. And we could see that our guide doubled the efforts to have more results. We've still seen quite a lot including 3 bison and a wolf that was hunting a hare ( a few meters away, but just a 2 seconds). We missed a brown bear by less than 5minutes (we met someone that saw a brown bear up close a few minutes ahead of us). So surprisingly good if you take the (unusual) bad weather in consideration. We had already enough to be happy about. And still the guide was doubling efforts so we could see more because he knew that we could have had better. And that there is more to see out there. This is a real commitment towards their clients.

They don't just walk with you. They know their locations, study the area, talk with locals (scientist) and keep track of the animals. They know where to go to increase your chances to see some mammals / birds. And I confirm it works, I've seen a lot. And when we didn't see the species we wanted, we've seen lots of tracks of their activity.

The knowledge of these guides is also impressive. I had 5 in total and they all surprised me with all the things they knew about all those animals. And they were always friendly, nice and patient. Listening to our "needs / demands" in some occasions too. They also take the time to explain about the Polish and local history and culture.

The rooms I had were always basic but nice, need nothing more for such a trip. Food was delicious! Discovered many central / east European dishes. And there was always enough.

List of things I've seen on those two trips (which I can remember, not putting all the birds here): 1x wolf, 5x bison (one 20m away!), 2x moose/elk, 2x raccoon dogs, 2x beaver, countless red and roe deer, foxes, hares, 2x pine martens, 1x stone marten, 5 kind of wood pecker, pygmy owl, really big tawny owl, kingfisher, nutcracker, hazel grouse, 2x common crane, a lot of stork, lesser spotted eagle, and many more.

To summarize, Poland has a lot to offer: beautiful scenery, good food, nice people and a lot of wildlife. Wild Poland is an excellent and trustworthy partner to go with that I would recommend to all people I know in the search of these kind of experiences.

The trips you will remember!

This is the time all travel stops. It helps to ease the pain when we recall the fond memories of past travels

Poland is one of the best destinations I love most. One of the main contributors is the Wild Poland Bison Safari Tour. Our guide Bart was very knowledgeable, not only in terms of wildlife and the Bialowieza Forest, but also in the history of Poland. He also had the special skill in imitating the chirping of woodpeckers. Our driver Patrick was a fun guy, and brought us a lot of joy in our conversations.

We had joined the 4 days 3 nights Bison Safari tour in October 2019 when the leaves started to turn yellow, and the scenery of Bialowieza Forest was at its best. This was an amazing tour. We spotted a lot of wild animals: the Bison, deer, owl, woodpecker and beavers.

We had many great walks in different parts of the Forest. Our guide Bart would bring us to various parts of the forest, so we could experience different landscapes. The protected area, though, was the most amazing part. There had never been any logging inside the protected area. The area mostly kept its primeval nature. When we stepped into it, it gave you a sense of pure magic. If some spiritual beings appeared before your very eyes, you would be less surprise here than elsewhere. To enter the protected area, we were led by another professional guide. The charming lady was so full of energy and passion that she seemed to be the most eager one to get into the area. She had a very good camera, and captured many great shots of birds.

Our group comprised of 3 couples: Jo and A.J., Heather and Geoff, and us. We felt lucky to have such good companions. During meals and our long walks, we always had some good conversations. We were interested in Poland, and Bart would tell us lots about the history of Poland and how it was like living in Poland, especially the change from Communism to Democracy.

The tour also offered excellent accommodation. We all lived in 2-storeyed wooden house. The interior was clean and cozy. It blends perfectly with the surrounding. The owner of the hotel was a kind old man. He prepared excellent meals for us, and every dinner we had different desserts. Once, he also served us the famous vodka of Poland.

At last, I wanted to tell a joke. Jo and us were living adjacent to each other on the ground floor, so when she was smoking outside her apartment, she could hear all our talking in Cantonese. One morning, she told us that last night she heard me laughing. She claimed that the laugh was so contagious that in the end she laughed with me. She made me understand that I was that happy during the trip. Now, the joke. In another morning, Jo asked Bart why he had to imitate the chirping of a woodpecker during the last evening. Bart was confused and denied. Jo, however, insisted that Bart was playing a joke on her. Later, when we were alone, my wife and I talked about the curious event. At that evening, my wife was playing the video of Bart imitating the chirping of the woodpecker. She played it again and again as we were amazed by Bart’s special skill. We believed that was the reason behind Jo’s claim. Later, we forgot to explain the reasons to them. If Bart and Jo happen to see this review, they will have one of their hardest mysteries in their lives solved. I hope that they will have a good laugh too.

All in all, it was an extremely pleasant trip. We thank Wild Poland, Bart and Patrick, and all our companions for giving us a great time.

I wish everything fine in Poland and in your excellent company Wild Poland. I hope in the future I can join your tours again.
