Best Western Hotel Cristal
Ranked #2 of 19 Hotels in Bialystok
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 16 July 2013

You can't beat the location of this hotel, most central hotel in Bialystok. Behind the hotel is cafe area "ratusz" where you can sit ,eat, drink and watch the day go past.

Close proximity to shops and a 15 min walk to "Alfa shopping centre".

Restaurant is over priced and poor service in which I lodged a complaint to the general manager. Overall a good clean well priced hotel with a great location!

This was my second stay at this hotel. I chose it again as I consider it to be the most suitable from a few hotels in Bialystok I have known. It has an excellent location in the center and really good access, both if you are by car or by train. The private parking is available for guests, but one have to pay for it additionally (30 PLN per night). Most attractions of the city as market place, both cathedrals (Catholic and Orthodox) and the Branicki Palace can be reached on foot in a few minutes. But the place is rather noisy but it could be disturbing only if you have a streetside room. However, the rooms are air condiotined and you can close the window. The service is particularly friendly and helpful (which is rather common for people in this part of the Polish). The rooms are really comfortable, but don't go beyond the standard. There is a fast working wifi and it is free of charge. But the biggest advantage is the food. Breakfast is, in my opinion, very good, with wide selection of meats, cheeses and many kinds of appetizers. However really great there are dishes ordered a la carte at the hotel restaurant, both regional cuisine and amazingly (it is not a seacoast town) yummy seafood.

First time in Bialystock didnt really know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Its in a great central position with very easy access to the railway/bus stations and the local attractions. We had a standard plus room which was big enough for the 2 of us for 6 days. We had a fridge and got coffee/tea making facility after asking for it. The A/C was very noisy and we tended not to use it even though it was so very hot. The room was clean and had basic furnishings, the shower room average.
Hotel staff varied, as one would expect, some reception staff abit unfriendly, but waiting-on staff and cleaners were great. There were 2 computers that were free to use which was great for us as we came to the area looking for information about my family. I think the hotel could be abit noisy if you had a room at the front, we were lucky our room was at the back the only thing that kept us awake was the car park gate - It needs some oil on those hinges!!!!!! Hotel has a hairdresser and free sauna (which we didnt use as it was like a sauna outside) but we did have a massage, it was great and good value, try it if you have the time. Breakfasts were excellent and alot to choose from. It would have helped if there had been more info in the hotel about the area and any organised trips.

Room Tip: Room at the back away from car park gate!

If you've been to Bialystok 10 years ago, forget the old image of Cristal Hotel - it is now very modern, redecorated and newly refurbished. It was such a pleasure to stay there for 2 nights.
The rooms are very spacious and interestingly decorated with different artistic touches. Bathroom was spacious and modern. Buffet breakfast was by far the biggest highlight - sumptuous and with local foods of best quality. If you're staying there, try to pates and sausages - their absolutely amazing!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the refurbished rooms, as I heard some were not redecorated yet. Don't miss the...

We stayed at Cristal (an old good name) one night only but we managed to appreciate this lovely place at once. Servis is truly friendly, kind and smiling which is quite rare for us, Poles, unfortunately :(. The new decor of rooms and restaurant ,in pinks and purples with velvet and huge chandeliers and the taste of sixties is cute and trendy, room wallpapers with night scene of the city and lit Roch church tower brought smile to my face . Everyhing is clean and shining . Breakfast - yummy indeed , with regional specialties ,all kind of eggs, fresh fruit and hand made pate of venison + Cumberland sauce ! And you are right in the middle of the city with car park (reservation required)
Just beware of rude taxi drivers in front when you want to park your car also in front of the hotel ;)
