The place is very nice.

Pros:
- Clerks are very very nice, they speak english
- Rooms are BEAUTIFUL, small, cozy, feels very renovated
- Breakfast is DELICIOUS!!!
- Lots of parking space

Cons:
- I felt the bed very uncomfortable, though my wife slept like a baby, so I guess it was just me.

Well firstly, anyone who says that this is "walking distance" from Auschwitz is being very economical with the truth. It's quite literally across the road from the main gate of the camp. It's also the only hotel I saw. So if Auschwitz camp is your destination, there is NO better location. It's grey and uninspiring from the outside, but inside we found scrupulously clean and very quiet. The rooms were sparse, but very clean and well maintained and the staff spoke good English and were very helpful - I left my phone on a bus and they did all they could to help re making phone calls. Breakfast was of a good standard, as I found across Poland and really, for the one night we stayed, we couldn't have picked any better. If you're going to Oswieciem to visit Auschwitz, this is the place to stay.

Stayed from 16/07/13 to 19/07/13.

Staff, service and advice given was excellent.

In an excellent location (200 yards from the main entrance to Auswitz1 and about a mile and half from Birkenau main camp.

Two exceptions, although the restaurant and food were agreeable, the service at times , was VERY slow...only one waiter/waitress on, and the restaurant was always full.

The main issue...DO NOT book a taxi back to the airport as I did. It cost me 200zlt in an OFFICIAL taxi from the airport to the hotel, but 300zlt BY A UNOFFICIAL ONE (a staff member of the hotel driving!!!)...be warned.

We stayed at Hotel Olecki for 3 nights in April 2013 when we visited Auschwitz.. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Oswiecim and was very convenient and easy to find.

Hotel Olecki was good value, clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay and found it to be an excellent base for visiting a number of locations including the Wieliczka Salt Mine near Krakow and the Schindler Museum in Krakow itself.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would certainly use it again if returning to the Krakow area.

We arrived without booking over a major Polish holiday long weekend but managed to get a room with a bit of a discount. Staff could not have been more helpful even printing off some info for me from the internet for free..

Location is right opposite the camp entrance so could not be easier and they were happy to hold bags whilst we visited even though we were only staying one night..

Standard double en-suite with big enough and firm enough bed and plenty of room. Breakfast typical buffet but with plenty of choice. Free wifi in quite a lot of the hotel.

Only thing that marred our stay was a drunk or drunks in the next room had the TV on too loud and were either shouting at each other or the TV. We were quite exhausted after a hard days travel but they were going at it until the wee small hours. We called reception to complain and the guy on reception actually came up to their room and told them to keep it down at no small risk to himself when dealing with unpredictable drunks. They did quieten a little but still too loud. I eventually slept through sheer exhaustion some time around 3 am.

I stayed here for a few nights - the hotel looks ok, nothing special, the rooms are clean and towels were changed daily.
I was very disappointed by their food, breakfast was basic, some cheap ham, sausages, cheese, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, butter, jam, tea, coffee. Moreover, they opened for the breakfast at 7:30 and when I went to eat (at 7:45) there was almost nothing left. I waited for 10 minutes and nobody came to refill the plates and because I am a vegetarian I had to eat half an egg and some cheese (the last 3 pieces).
The lunch was dreadful, I was lucky that I decided to order only a vegetable soup (which it was too salty and probably cooked with frozen vegetables), but my friends ordered chicken and fries and threw up immediatly after they ate.
Also when we arrived at the hotel at 10 p.m. we were hungry, but guess what? The restaurant was closed.
I recommend avoiding this hotel.

This hotel is situated right outside the entrance to Auschwitz I, so it is convenient. Conditions are basic, food served in the basement restaurant fairly mediocre, but then you wouldn't be staying more than a night would you?
