“A slice of rustic Polish-Lithuanian cooking.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2012

We went for dinner here on Divine Mercy Sunday, and did we feast heartily! The decor has the air of a house about it, the waitresses are very pretty and very helpful, and the food was rich and satisfying. All in all a great experience which I would gladly repeat.

“Maybe just the wrong night......”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

I had booked this restaurant for a Saturday night 3 weeks in advance on the basis of Trip Advisors recommendations expecting it to be a busy and popular spot. It’s easy to find on Plac Jana Matejki which is just across the road from the Barbican and the Florian Gate. We were greeted by friendly waitresses in Edwardian style dresses and invited to choose our table in the lower (and empty) section of the restaurant.
We were eventually joined by one other couple but, try as they might, the two gentlemen playing piano and violin could not improve on what was a fairly subdued atmosphere.
The waitresses were attentive and took time to explain and recommend various dishes. The food was good but not exceptional and prices were on a par with other restaurants around the old town.
After one course the other couple were finished and left followed soon after by the remaining diners in the upper section so by around 2130 we were the only ones left in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Was it my aftershave or something we said?
It was unfortunate that we visited Jarema on a cold night in March as it has an elegant dining room with potential but on the basis of this visit it fell short of our expectations when compared to some other restaurants we visited in Krakow.

Greeted by a traditionally clad waitress we were able to select a table in a very elegant room. Helped to make appropriate choices of potato and veg to complement our main dish.A very pleasnt first meal in Poland

“Best meal we had in Krakow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Krakow in a snow storn so did not know what to expect, At the end of holiday we can say that the food served here was exceptional and the service excellent. With a bottle of wine and two courses it cost us £40 not the cheapest but by far the best quality food we found while visiting. We liked how the waitresses were dressed.

“Quiet fine dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

the atmosphere is pleasant although a bit subdued. I had an early dinner, so the place was very quiet. The meal was very good, having settled on a venison haunch. Seasoning, texture and taste were spot on. Only complaint is the pricing of extras.. a bit more than it should be, imho.
