“Wonderful place to stay just out of town with great rooms, restaurant and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2010

We chose this hotel because it is only a short tram ride out of town but it is 5 stars and costs barely more than a Travel Lodge type hotel in the UK.

The rooms were excellent, decent size, well decorated and with full facilities. The en-suite was very large with his and hers basins and a large walk-in shower. soaps, creams, etc etc refreshed daily.

The staff were all exceptionally friendly and courteous and all spoke very good English.

The taxi driver serves this hotel and a number of others and he, too, was friendly and provided ecellent service.

The hotel restaurant seems to be attractive to people not staying at the hotel and I would put it on a par to a Michelin starred type establishment in the UK.

The restuarant is medium size with tables catering for about 40 or 50 diners at a time.

We ate in the restaurnat on our first night and it was so good, we ate there every night of our stay.

The food was excellent and provided a good range of options - we tried 5 mains between us and each one was superb. Two courses each plus a bottle of wine and additional beers/drinks etc and all for about £32. Hotel residents also benefit from a 10% discount on the normal restaurant prices.

The tram terminus is a leisurely 10 minute stroll from the hotel and it takes about 10 minutes to get into Old Town Square. All for Zlotys 2.50 (eq £0.55 pence) one way.

It's greta place to stay because you can access all the sights etc of the Old Town very easily yet the hotel is in a quiet location.

Firslty I read several reviews about this hotel before I booked it. I was still very surprised when I jumped in a cab at Krakow station and headed towards the hotel to find the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere just off a busy route into central Krakow. It was late evening which made it worse. On arrival I was surpirsed how nice the hotel was and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was big with double doors opening onto a lovely balcony. The decor is stylish traditional, dark woods and original antiques and pictures. There's free internet on computers on each floor. The bathroom was nice with a double sink, bath and shower. It didn't stop me from thinking I was in the middle of nowhere and far from town. The next day after a nice breakfast i walked to the underground and took the train into town and to my surprise it was a very quick 2 stops (about ten minutes) so in the end I was quite happy staying there. Not so sure if you'd feel safe wandering around at night as there are some rough looking tower blocks on the other side of the freeway. Taxis were cheap into town but the traffic was always bad. On the second night the hotel had a wedding which didn't surprise me as it's very much a hotel for weddings. The event went on until around 5am and the noise was very bad.A friend staying in another room called and complained. I was surpirsed they allowed such loud music to carry on until after 5am with guests asleep above. Basically if you don't mind the travelling and if there are no weddings planned then it's a nice hotel. Reception staff were very helpful, organising tours to Aushwitz and the Salt mines and had a good knowledge of Krakow. Krakow is really beautiful, friendly with lots to see and do.

We had a car so this hotel was a great choice with free parking, and not too hard to find even at night. It is in a redone historic building and almost too beautiful. The rooms are so lovely you dont notice they are a typical smallish euro size- flat screen large TV, stylish desk, nice linens, room darkening shades, A/C, silk drapes- really as pretty as anything I have seen in at a luxury hotel. I had a dark blue room and my teen boys had a bright spacious sort of oriental red color room. Much prettier than the chain hotel rooms!
We spent one night here and wished we had planned for more. The restaurant is a high ceilinged space, very elegant and very good, tho not inexpensive it is was delish. A large breakfast is served in the same space and the sunshine makes it a lovely room.
The young man desk clerk at night was very friendly and the ladies during the day were nice. All spoke good English.
I think this hotel has been open only a year and it shows. Was told the hotel has lots of weddings and small conferences and the Morgan Club of Poland was meeting there when we checked in.

Go there. The staff are typically Polish - polite, efficient and Catholic. The food is quite excellent - even the taxi driver said so. Poles come there for festivities. At reception, they will also give you personal tips on where to visit. I love steam trains (?!) and they even told me about a secret museum! The Hotel is just next to a park where there is good food too. The only disadvantage is that you are on the ring road, so you have a short bus ride (No 115) into town: cost? peanuts. Best holiday I have had for ages.
PS I drank beer.
PPS Not good for rowdy stag/hag parties.

June 2009
We went to Krakow totally by chance and we were so impressed by the place. It had just has so much to see and to offer everyone and anytime of the year it seems. We went in June and it was beautiful. Their winter would be awsome too as they have lots of snow and activities.
The people are so nice and friendly and we stayed at a Hotel "Dwor Kosciuszko" that is owned by the Donimirski Hotel group and it was just terrific. A little boutique Hotel that was fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely.Open windows. The food is just great. An Excellent place to stay.
You need at least a week here, if not more.
We were people never dreaming they would go to Poland, but due to circumstances, we went and I would recommend it to anyone.
The History, the views, the food, the people, all the things to do. All exceptional. and not expensive. Go and see for yourself.
