We recently stayed at the Let's Rock branch of Goodbye Lenin hostels (there are 2 Goodbye Lenins in Krakow!).
It was really great!
From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. We had booked a whole 12-bed dorm, and the room was clean, pleasant and spacious with 6 bunk beds. Despite the cold outside, the radiator kept it so warm that we had to open the window! There was a shared bathroom on each floor, which was immaculately clean, with a pretty good shower. Towels are available if you leave a 20 zlt deposit - which you get back afterwards. You also pay a 20 zlt deposit for the room/locker key, but you get that back at the end of the stay too, so it's all good.

I ended up drinking a lot of the free, fresh coffee, and the toasted sandwich maker came in handy for toasties in the morning (ham, cheese, bread, butter, honey, milk, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, orange squash, coco-pop-type-things were all part of the breakfast that ran from 7:30 - 11:30!). There is also free internet (wifi and a couple of computers you can use), and the walls are covered in funky rock/communism motifs.

Don't be put off when you arrive by the small, smelly alleyway it sits in, once you are buzzed in, it's lovely, bright and airy - and very secure, with many security cameras, and lockable dorms and lockers. It's not very disabled-friendly though - stairs up to reception, and then rooms are spread out over that and 2 more floors ... no lift!

The hostel does not normally take stag groups, but we had been moved from the Stranger Hostel because it is currently closed for refurbishments. They could tell we were nice guys, and just asked us to keep our noisy merry-making to the lounge/kitchen area rather than the bedroom! Besides, we were quite well-behaved! If you are a bit more boisterous as a stag group, I would stay away... We all loved the place, and would not hesitate to stay there again - either in a group or with our respective girlfriends!
