Had a brief 2 night visit to Krakow. Picked the Kossak after reading positive TA reviews.
Hotel is relatively new and this reflects in modern decor, all areas in good condition. Rooms of high quality, clean - we had fab views of the castle and river from our 4th floor room.
Breakfast of high quality - wide selection. Great omlette!
Short walk to main square should not deter- take a loop along the river or a more direct route across the Planty.
Roof top restaurant / bar has great views but vulnerable to a stiff breeze- need to catch a balmy evening to get the best of this great setting.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Excellent hotel. Fantastic corner room with a brilliant view of Wawel Castle. The room was comfortable and quiet and the bathroom, especially the bath was beautiful. Breakfast buffet had so many choices we didn't eat everything and we stayed 4 nights. The staff were friendly and very helpful and helped arrange our trip to Auschwitz on Holocaust Memorial Day. (we are really late completing this!)

My husband and I have already booked for February 2012 for our 21st wedding anniversary and cant wait!

An excellent hotel with clean modern rooms. Convenient position for sightseeing, especially Town Square (10 minute walk away), Castle and Jewish Quarter. Staff very helpful and friendly. Roof top restaurant worth using as views are wonderful. Good selection of breakfast foods and quality also good. There can be some minor early morning noise from local deliveries if your room faces the inner court yard (more noticable if window is open), however this should not put you off.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Outside of the hotel we would recommend booing restaurants in advance, as we found the good ones fully booked in the evenings. Use trip Advisor to see the popular ones - which we did and had some difficulty getting a table at these.

Would definately recommend the Kossak Hotel for it's central location, service and overall appearance. We would have loved to have stayed a bit longer to try out the restaurant and enjoy a cocktail. However we were very pleased with our room and the breakfast service each morning. Our favourite part of the hotel was the fantastic rooftop cafe area which was great for dining, relaxing and taking photos of the views!

My friend and I decided to extend our business trip in Poland and take the train to Krakow. What a beautiful city. I cannot wait to go back. It was my job to pick a hotel and I was spot on with this hotel.

Hotel is about 10 minutes from the main square, but right across the street from Wawel Castle and the Vistula River. Was a fantastic location! Room was very big, nice clean bathroom, comfortable beds, great views, free internet, and very quite.

My only negative was the service at the front desk. While they did allow us to check in early (10a) instead of waiting until 2p, the person at the desk was not very informative. We were going to Auschwitz for the day and he told me at first it was closed. Then, 10 minutes later, he said it was open, but the last train for the day left and it would be impossible to make it there. Well, I did my homework and there were plenty of trains, we made it to Auschwitz, it was open for the day, and we made it back in the evening. I am not sure what this guy was thinking. It was the day before Easter, but the camp was open and so were the trains.

I would EASILY stay here again, but just check your facts about local attractions. On my return trip, I am going to visit the Oskar Schindler Museum that recently opened. From what I hear, it is a can't miss museum.

We spent 4 nights in the Kossak as an anniversary treat. It was absolutely perfect in all ways. The setting on the river with views over Wawel hill and the castle and cathedral was superb. To eat at a table on the roof terrace in the summer must be wonderful. Our room was spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. Pillows to die for!! The hotel places importance upon its guests having a peaceful night and has a "curfew" upon noise after 10pm. The buffet breakfast was delicious. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the old town so ideally placed for sight-seeing. If you are interested in tours to eg the salt mines or Auschwitz the tour coach will pick you up just opposite the hotel. As you will have guessed by now, we cannot fault this hotel in any way.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the river to Wawel

We really enjoyed our stay here. Spent 4 nights last week. Staff very friendly and very helpful. We all had views of the castle and about ten minutes to the old town. Very central location. Rooms very clean and cleaned every day. Complimentary botled water daily, would you worry about the tourist tax?? food good, good choices. Michelin restaurant well worth a visit. Would bring my mother here...

Room Tip: all rooms good
