“self catering apartment near to old town”
Reviewed 26 November 2011

We changed to an apartment from a hotel when our 21 year old daughter decided to gate crash our weekend break, we really were delighted to have her and found the apartment ideal for our purposes. It reminded us of an Edinburgh tenament flat with what had been one huge room divided into an ensuite bathroom and kitchen/dinner in with a large double bedroom and sofa bed so it was ideal for 3. it was up a stone staircase with stained glass windows and original tiles on the landings. As the reception was open most of the time we had the added bonus of their local knowledge advising us about trams and buses so we could make our own way to Oskar Shindlers factory and the Salt mines so we did'nt need to pay for expensive tours. There were plenty of restaurants in the old town in easy walking distance we had an excellent time.

Out of 6 apartments we stayed in on a recent trip to various countries, Ventus Rosa was the best. They upgraded us without our asking from one beautiful high quality apartment to another to begin with. Anything we needed in the apartment they brought to us. The apartment is in the city center but quiet. Marcelina and Camilla are like 5 star hotel concierges. They offered advice on sights to see and what inexpensive restaurant had great local food and atmosphere.
They let us call home from the office and use the office computer when the wi-fi was a bit week.
They are both super smart environmental engineering students and I'm sure anyone else working for Ventus Rosa is of similar quality.
Finally, we stayed an extra day in Krakow because we were so comfortable there and left our luggage in the office when we checked out.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back and quiet.

We have just returned from our 4th stay at the Ventus Rosa and it just gets better, Lukas and the girls are excellent and so helpful and friendly. The apartments are a short walk from the centre of the old town and close for the railway and bus station. They are beautifully warm and clean and have everything you need to self cater should you wish to do so.
Krakow is a beautiful city particularly as it gets closer to Christmas .There are many excellent restaurants near by.

Sadly we had only two nights in Krakow, which wasn't enough as there is so much to see. We found the apartment to be superb, immaculately clean and unbeatable value. I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone and would definitely use them again.

Reception staff were very helpful. A wonderful old building with every modern convenience. Very large rooms and very well equipped.

Hopefully we will return in the near future, I would give these apartments 10 out of 10!!!!

I stayed this week and found the apartments amazing. Located 5 minutes away from the main square nice big clean rooms and excellent service. Free wifi and calls to landlines across Europe if you needed anything staff where always happy to help and you and help with planning for any trips you wanted. Only thong I could fault was we never seen a cleaner once but did receive fresh towels. Definitely staying again

I stayed here in May 2011, with my parents and sister visiting from New Zealand, and my partner. We arrived very early in the morning, via airport transfer arranged by the apartment. The taxi driver was very friendly and entertaining for the 30 min ride from airport. We arrived about 10am, and although they couldn't let us into the apartment, the woman on the front desk was super helpful and managed to organise a trip to Auschwitz for my parents with pick up within 30 mins of our arrival! The apartment itself was brilliant, 2 bedrooms with a 5th sofa bed in the living area. Bathroom was big and clean. It was quiet, good for sleeping in! The location was great, about 10 minute stroll into the centre of Krakow, which is very lively with lots of cafes and restaurants around. I had been to Krakow in 2008 with friends, loved the city then also. We did a tour to Auschwitz at that time, as well as the Salt Mines, both brilliant. It seems strange to say that of Auschwitz, however the tour was very well run, the guide was excellent around the site, and despite presumably doing guided tours day in day out, showed us around with real emotion and feeling in her voice about what had happened here. Also really enjoyed the Jewish Quarter with bars and cafes both during this visit and in 2008. On this visit we went to the newly opened Schindler's Factory Museum, which gave I thought an excellent account of Krakow during WWII, but also the general history of the city.

After coming off an overnight train where we got no sleep!! We were so happy to come to these apartments and were allowed to check in on our early arrival. Apartment was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and gave us a map on arrival. Was close location to the main square of krakow, a short walk through a park. Bed was comfy and bathroom was very nice with freebie toiletries :) highly recommended
