This was the first stop of 5 different cities and it set a precedent for the rest of the trip! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was large with very comfortable beds and clean, and the location was great! The shower was small, but all showers in Eastern Europe are small- not like in the U.S. The shower pressure was the best of any shower I'd ever taken in Europe! They had free WiFi, which was nice, as we each brought an iPod touch to use. The hotel also has a computer available in the lobby. We were technically "backpacking", more like using backpacks as suitcases that we could carry on our backs. I'm glad we did, as this hotel did not have an elevator (which was fine for us).

We had booked 2 nights at Globus, however the airline canceled our flight and we got in to Krakow a day late. We were responsible for the first night, per our confirmation with the hotel (I'm glad I bought travel insurance!!), which was fine.

I got a great rate of $78/night by booking directly through the hotel as opposed to other on-line websites. I checked on-line to see what other rates were available and contacted the hotel to see if they would match or beat any of those prices, which they did. I was able to request the type of room I wanted (room for 2 people with 2 beds, shower, not on the ground floor with air conditioning) and we were able to pay on check-out, as opposed to the on-line sites that require payment up front. The hotel set up for a taxi for us from the air port to the hotel, as we were initially supposed to arrive near midnight. When our flight changed, all I had to do was e-mail them and they changed our transfer. The driver was waiting at the airport (KRK, which is the size of a small car garage) for us with a sign with my name on it.

Breakfast was the standard Eastern European set up- buffet with cold cuts/lunch meat type items, cheeses, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, tea/coffee, yogurt, cereal, breads. Good that breakfast was included.

I would highly recommend Globus Rooms and Apartments!

The Globus is a small and no frills three star hotel. Its staff is young and extremely helpful. The hotel is perfectly located between the Old Town and the Jewish District. Breakfast is fair although I didn't have anything to complain about.

The room is clean, comfortable, well kept and has air conditioning. However, if you are on the street side, you may be disturbed by many trams that run early and late. Another (small) drawback is that there is no hairdryer in the room, or at least in mine. On the otherside, I appreciated that small bottles of water were supplied every day.

Last but not least: a computer with high speed Internet is available for guests in the lobby.

We stayed at the Globus for 5 nights in May and had a wonderful room. We asked for a quiet room and it was. The location, about 3/4 blocks to the main square was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful. We are in our 50's, enjoy travel and must have a comfortable bed...sheets were great. You will enjoy this hotel. Ask for Margaret, she was so helpful.

Had had a hicup with transfer, after arrival, nothing went wrong, in fact I had a wonderful time, the staff were so helpful, in english. They always has smiles on face, and would bend over backwards to help. The position was brilliant, close to all parts of the old city, but nearer the jewish quarter, which is brilliant. Breakfast was in a little bar area, pretty and always staffed. They could organise anything you needed, would keep up to date with changing circumstances- we had floods and closed bridges to deal with, and always come up with good solutions. Transfers could be organised swiftly and efficiently.
This was a gem!

This is a recently refurbished property with a location on the northern edge of the Jewish Quarter. The rooms were very clean, well appointed (high end linens, towels and pillows) and quiet. The staff was, without exception, personable and very helpful. There is no lift, however our bags were carried up by a staff member. Krakow is very walkable and this property is a short walk to the main square as well as restaurants and bars in the immediate area.
