The heating was switched off and it was freezing cold. Only when we complained the next morning it was switched on. The internet was VERY slow. It only worked OK when standing in the floor just below the router.

Stayed in a private ensuite. 10 out of 10. Pavel was very helpful and chatty on arrival. It's 30 seconds to the main square, would definitely stay again! Some cheap bars just off this corner of the square what you can get a beer for 4zl.

Last august we went to Cracow, at the Flower Hostel. It is cheap and clean with a kitchen always available and breakfast included. Problems for us were: a bathroom not really close to our room and the breakfast ready not before 8 in the morning and sometimes even later, which could be really bad if have ,for instance, an organized trip early. Fantastic is the position and really welcoming the young people who work there. I would recommend it anyway with full marks..but mind the high steps to reach the rooms!

I travelled to Krakow for the weekend, with the intention of seeing the city. I also went a year ago with a group of friends and stayed at the fantastic Antique Apartments, but travelling alone this time I wanted something a bit more cost effective. I am so glad that I found the Flower Hostel. It is literally 2 minutes away from the Antique Apartments, so still just a 2 minute walk to the main square. The hostel is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building, so please be prepared for the 46 steps up to the reception (no lift) with another floor up if you are staying in an apartment. I booked a single room and was allocated Room 1 - this is an en-suite twin room, spacious and with a compact but perfectly acceptable shower room. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The front door is secured both at ground and reception level but your room key gives you 24 hour access. There is a lovely kitchen/breakfast room/lounge where breakfast is served from 0800-1100 hours. This consists of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, cold meats, hard boiled eggs and boiled sausages along with bread/toast. There is also coffee, tea and fruit juice available. This kitchen area is great, with a 4 seater leather sofa along with satellite TV and a DVD player with a great selection of films. The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery and you can use this at any time - there is also free tea and coffee available all day for residents which is a really nice touch. The reception is staffed all day and evening by friendly young staff, who really go out of their way to help you. Another nice thing to see is a polite notice asking people to keep noise to a minimum between 2200 hours and 0700 hours. Just a shame that 'the lads' obviously didn't see the sign on Saturday night!!! The complete building is non-smoking, but there is a lovely little furnished balcony on the reception level for the smokers amongst you. There are a wide selection of restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk, with a very inexpensive restaurant on the ground floor and a nice pub next door to that. I would definitely stay again at the Flower Hostel.
